OPPORTUNITY

The primary purpose of this position is to lead the Production Departments' day-to-day activities as they pertain to safety, environmental compliance, customer orders, quality/GMP requirements, and administrative functions. This position will uphold the Hydrite "Standards of Excellence" through continuous commitment to customer satisfaction, both internal and external.

3rd shift hours are Sunday-Friday from 10:00pm-6:30am

As Production Supervisor, primary responsibilities include:

  • Responsible to ensure safe operation of activities and lead employees to be compliant in all employee safety, food safety, environmental compliance, and quality.
  • Complete and follow up on all incident and accident investigations, as needed.
  • Direct the planned activities for Milwaukee's Technical and Food Processing departments.
  • Responsible for implementing and maintaining "Good Housekeeping Practices" on specific interior and exterior areas of the facility.
  • Complete training for all direct reports and assure new employees receive required training.
  • Investigate, recommend and/or implement alternative policies, procedures, and processes to improve department efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Ensure all duties outlined in relevant SOPs (GMPs) are understood and adhered to; including, but not limited to, PPE adherence, corporate programs, and SOP policies.
  • Assist with permit requirements. This includes LOTO, Confined Space Entry and Hot Work.
  • Help facilitate the introduction of new products and processes in production
  • Periodic Weekend Coverage.
  • Proactively coach, teach and mentor employees using daily communication as well as periodic and annual performance evaluations.
  • All staff members are responsible for reporting food safety problems to their supervisor or Quality Assurance upon observation of a known or potential issue.
  • Uphold Hydrite's Standard of Excellence through a continuous commitment to maintain quality facilities and provide quality products and services to internal and external customers.
  • Participate in RCRA, regulatory, health & safety and process training activities as required. Review changes/additions with your manager. Must be RCRA compliant.

SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Active member of Milwaukee's Emergency Response Team.
  • Support the overall Strategic Plan effort and goals for the entire facility, including safety, cost reduction, quality, backorders, and budget.
  • Project development and management.
  • Develop and update new and existing SOP's and Job Aids
  • Trainer for specified EHS required training.
  • Works with other staff members to maintain workload balances. Provides Back up support as necessary
  • Supports effective communication with all Hydrite departments where responsibilities overlap to ensure success of the branch team.

REPORTING STRUCTURE

  • This position reports to the Manufacturing Manager

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL CRITERIA

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required. A Bachelor's Degree or equivalent is preferred.
  • Management, Supervisor, or Lead Operator experience preferred.
  • Chemistry, Engineering, and or Manufacturing background recommended.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and organizational skills required.
  • Strong computer skills and knowledge of Power Point, Word, and Excel required.
  • Must have communication and interpersonal skills, along with the ability to read, write, and speak English.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to sit, stand, and climb stairs for up to 10 hours per day.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, occasionally.
  • Able to climb ladders and work at heights up to 50 feet, on occasion.
  • Able to perform manual dexterity tasks.
  • Ability to operate a forklift; previous experience preferred.
  • Occasional turning, twisting, stooping, bending, and reaching.
  • Due to safety concerns, the wearing of contact lenses is prohibited.
  • Able to wear a hairnet and beard net, if applicable, with a hard hat.
  • No exposed jewelry in body piercings when in a GMP production area.
  • Ability to wear a respirator for up to 4 hours a day. Please refer to the SOP for facial hair guidelines.
  • Ability to wear SCBA and additional personal protective equipment.
