Eaton's ES GEIS CHD division is currently seeking a Maintenance Plumber - 3rd Shift. This position is based at our Syracuse, NY location. The candidate will be responsible for replacing and piping in an industrial environment.
The core hours for this role are 10:30 pm to 6:30 am. The hourly rate for this position is $31.45 per hour.

What you'll do:
- Plan and perform all required operations to install, maintain, and repair water, steam, oil, air, gas, acid, sanitary waste, wastewater, sprinkler, pressure and piping systems, pumps, motor sets, heating and air conditioning equipment, and related apparatus in plant, office and yard areas.
- Duties involve the application of broad trades or apprenticeship training and experience in improvising or making decisions where only general methods are available requiring considerable initiative and ingenuity, utilize industrial plumber pipefitter skills.
- Install the proper number of sprinkler heads according to pipe size; maintain and adjust dry and divisional valves, obtaining proper pressures to obtain effective operation of sprinkler systems, maintain underground fire supply, and sanitary & storm sewer lines.
- Replace motorized and regulative control equipment for steam and hot water; make minor repairs, disassemble and repair copper coil unit heaters.
- Install and maintain new and rebuilt air conditioning units including repair of reciprocating, absorption, and centrifugal units, replace such items as compressor, condenser, and motor. pump, expansion and discharge valves, piping systems, etc.
- Inspect, troubleshoot, isolate problems, and repair instruments and control systems for heating, cooling, air, water, and wastewater systems.
- Troubleshoot air makeup system malfunctions and regulate combustion equipment and maintain operational logs as required.
Qualifications:
Required (Basic) Qualifications:
- Journeymen or three (3) years of documented plumbing experience
Preferred qualifications:
- Plumber pipefitter experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Five (5) full-time years' experience or the equivalent to Plumber Journeymen level experience.
- Piping experience in an industrial setting.
Success Criteria:
- Ability to problem solve and understand mechanical equipment.
- Use a normal range of hand tools and pipe-fitting machinery to bend, thread, and cut pipe.
- Use pipe economically, select and assemble proper elbows, unions, couplings, and other fittings.
- Operate fork truck as required in the performance of job duties.
