Griffith Foods is a global manufacturer of food products. We provide a wide range of taste and texture components for food industry customers throughout the world. Our products include seasoning blends, dry mixes, coating systems, dough blends, crumbs, flavors, sauces and food bases that are used in an extensive variety of applications from snack foods and processed meat and poultry to ready meals. Our customers include food processors, restaurant operators, and grocery retailers. While our name may not be familiar to consumers, our products are key components of foods offered by many of the world’s best-known companies.

Location: Hybrid

Summary: The Account Director (AD) is responsible for achieving sales in the Retail and Other Channels Segments outlined in the annual budget and Long-Range Plan. The AD manages planning and execution against volume, net sales and contribution margin objectives and is instrumental in initiating and developing new business at targeted accounts within their business segment.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  1. Strategic Planning: Provides strategic input that reflects marketplace and customer requirements into the GFUS annual sales & marketing planning process. The input should focus on specific customer strategies and tactics that will result in a final plan that can be executed to achieve LRP objectives.
  2. Market and Account Planning: Establishes plans, priorities, objectives, and strategies that deliver GFUS objectives within defined corporate goals and are consistent with the LRP.
  3. Sales/Volume Execution: Achieve/exceed volume & profit goals for targeted customers within their respective territory.
  4. Customer Development: The AD should penetrate key customers by selling the total Griffith Foods portfolio and by focusing on adding value and facilitating the execution of strategic initiatives to achieve an ongoing competitive advantage.
  5. Business Development: The AD will leverage Griffith Foods core capabilities to acquire new customers that are consistent with Griffith Foods LRP.
  6. Sales Operational Effectiveness: Effectively manage administrative responsibilities including forecasting, S&OP support, account planning, CRM utilization, project management processes, etc.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s degree required; MBA is preferred.
  2. 5+ years’ experience in the food industry required.
  3. Proven experience in building and maintaining business relationships.
  4. Experience with customized and private-label food products required.
  5. Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
  6. Interpersonal skills to interact with diverse groups of individuals and functional areas within the company and outside the company.
  7. Experience with CRM.
  8. Knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint required.
  9. This position requires 50% travel.
