Overview
Premier Enterprise Solutions is seeking a proficient Policy/Procedure Writer and Editor for a DoD agency. The Policy/Procedure Writer will be responsible for creating, revising, editing and implementing these organizations' policies and procedures. Overall duties will include researching agency/industry best practices, working closely with department leaders to understand the needs of their teams, and writing clear and concise documents.
Our ideal candidate has excellent written and verbal communication skills, experience in policy and procedure development, and a keen eye for detail. This role requires someone who can ensure that all policies and procedures meet legal requirements and align with the agency's mission and values. This is a full-time position located in the Washington, DC area, onsite at the Pentagon. Veterans are encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities: Gathering and analyzing National policies and strategies, and translating that information into clear and articulate documentation and presentations to be used by OUSD(I&S) senior leaders Developing and editing written OUSD(I&S) documents (memorandums, policies, issuances, agency policies, and guidance) to ensure well-written, quality, error-free content and publications Coordinate with organization management to understand and develop new policies and procedures. Collaborate with various departments and/or agencies to gather information on policy or procedure changes and updates. Provide necessary analysis and research covering best practices and government compliance Write, edit, and revise the organization's ongoing policies and procedures development and implementation Ensure all documents are clear and concise and easy to understand Monitor changes in laws, regulations, and government practices that may affect organizations' policies or procedures Conduct regular reviews of existing policies and procedures and update as required. Provide feedback and suggestions to authors, content creators, and action officers to improve publications/documents and future documents Correct punctuation and grammar mistakes Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, Business, or related field At least seven (7) years of policy/procedure writing experience Proven experience as a Policy and Procedure Writer or similar role within the federal government Experience working with DoD, and the Intelligence Community Strong written and verbal communication skills Detail-oriented with excellent proofreading abilities Familiarity with researching federal government, defense and/or legal regulations Ability to work with stakeholders at all levels of the organization Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Word and Excel Preferred Qualifications:
Significant experience writing and editing policy/procedure documents, including security and intelligence documentation Knowledge of media production, communication, and dissemination techniques, including alternative ways to information via written, oral, and visual media Strong ability to prioritize and address multiple, concurrent projects with varying production timelines Clearance Requirements:
Active TS with Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI)
