Description

We are looking for a driven Sr. Software Development Engineer with a growth mindset who is adept at a variety of skills, especially with design and development of cloud services or mobile apps.

You will part of a team building the future of Smart Eyewear at Amazon leveraging Amazon's state of the art AI. Amazon is focused on bringing technology and design into a form that is familiar to millions of people in a way that has never been done before.

You will have the opportunity to make impact across multiple products and be part of the start of a new product space within Amazon. As a Sr. Software Development Engineer, you will design, develop, and deploy cloud services and mobile apps that leverage AI and machine learning techniques for our Smart Eyewear product. You will play a crucial role in the development and deployment of our cloud services, and will work closely with applied scientists and other engineers to create robust and scalable solutions that meet our product needs. You will need to define SW architecture, drive best engineering practices, and produce clean, re-usable code. You must be prepared to deal with ambiguity and be ready to learn as you go. You will have the opportunity to influence product decisions and direction that will impact millions of customers.

Key job responsibilities

Design, and develop large scale cloud services and/or mobile experiences on Android & iOS.

Develop and maintain scalable and efficient codebases.

Conduct experiments, build prototypes, analyze results, and define SW architecture to develop optimal systems.

Integrate ML models into production systems and ensure their reliability and efficiency.

Deploy applications on devices and cloud platforms, and manage their lifecycle.

Stay updated with the latest advancements in AI and machine learning technologies.

Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and team meetings.

Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance.

Basic Qualifications

7+ years of non-internship professional software development experience

7+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience

7+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience

Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team

Preferred Qualifications

7+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience

Master's degree in computer science or equivalent

Expertise in at least one object-oriented programming language such as Java, Kotlin, Swift, or C+- Experience in design and development of cloud services using AWS.

Experience in developing mobile applications on Android or iOS.

Knowledge of computer vision or AI based applications.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $151,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $261,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
