Job Summary:
- As Maintenance Supervisor you will lead a team of Maintenance Technicians coordinating and organizing maintenance crew activities to ensure the highest levels of reliability and efficiency across production lines. You will be responsible for overseeing maintenance operations, providing support for interventions, and collaborating on new projects.
- Lead and supervise a team of Maintenance Technicians, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback.
- Plan and prioritize maintenance tasks to ensure minimal impact on production schedules.
- Develop and oversee preventive maintenance programs to optimize equipment reliability and minimize downtime.
- Inspect machinery and infrastructure regularly to identify potential issues and address them proactively.
- Coordinate with production and other departments to schedule maintenance activities effectively.
- Ensure adherence to safety regulations and foster a culture of safety within the maintenance team.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including equipment history and inventory management.
- Manage relationships and evaluate external contractors for specialized repair projects as needed.
- Collaborate with procurement to maintain the availability of necessary spare parts and supplies.
- Identify and implement process improvements and cost-saving opportunities within the maintenance function.
- Proven experience as a Maintenance Supervisor or in a similar role within a production or manufacturing environment.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills to manage and motivate a diverse team.
- Experience working in a unionized environment is strongly preferred.
- Comprehensive knowledge of machinery, tools, and their maintenance, repair, and operational use.
- Familiarity with business principles, including resource allocation, strategic planning, and coordination.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills with a proactive approach to maintenance challenges.
- Solid understanding of safety regulations and the ability to champion safety practices.
- Strong organizational and time management skills to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) for tracking work orders and inventory.
- Flexibility to work during off-hours or respond to emergency maintenance needs.
