Overview

As the VP – HR Transformation & Workforce Relations, you will provide executive leadership across HR workstreams and connection into Seminole Hard Rock’s People & Inclusion office. The role will help to define process improvements while leading the human resources function on our transformation journey. You will be highly visible and have exposure to Senior Leaders. The VP HR Transformation should have deep human resources domain knowledge coupled with project management and accountability at scale. They are responsible for all labor relations functions and strategy to ensure a positive work environment for both represented and non-represented team members consistent with the Company’s values and organizational objectives. This role also includes innovation and transformation experience to enhance existing HR functions and develop innovative leaders and teams. This role reports directly to the SVP of People and Inclusion.

This includes all Seminole Gaming Administration properties, Hard Rock International domestic and international locations; to include managed, franchised and licensed properties globally and Seminole Hard Rock Support Services which is the corporate entity of the organization.

The company is growing, and this VP with partner closely with the SVP of People & Inclusion to cultivate a center of excellence and expertise within the corporate HR Function. This person will be a partner to the SVP and HR leadership team in developing the company’s strategy and overseeing the company’s operations in a fast-growing hospitality and gaming company.

As both a critical strategic and foundational, operational role, this person will be in a unique position to develop business and people strategies to advance the company’s mission, principles, and growth, helping to create the company’s culture, and own the full lifecycle of their people.

Responsibilities

Essential duties include:

  • Develop and implement enterprise- wide transformation strategies aligned with organizational mission.
  • Establish a working cadence for HR transformation governance including optimizing operating connection into the digital, HR environment and the Enterprise transformation team.
  • Work with the global HRIS operations team to continue and optimize governance, org efficiency, and process discipline to enable a high quality HR environment.
  • Own and optimize people analytics, dashboarding and reporting capabilities, and connected measurement of enterprise performance metrics related to the workforce.
  • Lead the translation of business/HR goals and objectives into concrete executable plans; understand HR processes and provide guidance in all aspects of HR technology management.
  • Demonstrate experience in collaborating with senior leadership, IT, Procurement; large scale matrix leadership.
  • Experienced in the RFP and vendor selection processes; direct and challenge third party vendors and assess appropriate next generation technology recommendations.
  • Lead business relationships relating to process owners and partnering with IT to build and drive related processes and procedures.
  • Instill a high accomplishment and innovation mentality to drive the formation of a diverse, global culture with high retention, job satisfaction and demonstrable talent migration backed with a future bench of leadership.
  • Provide pro-active labor relations support and counsel on labor relations, union avoidance, employee relations, and other related matters.
  • Cultivate positive and productive working relationships with organized labor representatives for the most optimal desired outcomes.
  • Interact cohesively with leadership, attorneys and consultants on labor and employee relations matters in a professional and collegial manner.
  • Advise and provide counsel regarding all collective bargaining agreements, grievance and arbitration matters, NLRB matters, and other labor relations subjects.
  • Strong understanding of the benefit components of labor relations and cost impact on the business.
  • Knowledge about navigating benefits vendors and partners with strong ability to collaborate and negotiate.
  • Ability to navigate effectively complex and detailed matters with insightful outcomes.
  • Execute a vision of transformation within the HR Function to drive innovation and growth through both technology and culture advancement.
  • Participate in strategic planning by partnering with the leadership team to ensure HR initiatives are aligned with business objectives.
  • Strategically partner with the other members of the HR leadership team to create a “first-team first” culture, driving alignment, clarity, and accountability.
  • Develops and implements the HR strategic plan, performance plan, and operating plan consistent with company goals and objectives.
  • Advising, as a true confidante to the SVP and peers, on topics such as organizational design, organizational development, change management, and culture transformation.
  • Help the company mobilize their values to build a positive company culture that will allow employees to thrive and the business to scale.
  • Leads efforts in partnership with the SVP and VP peers and provides advice and support for the development, implementation, oversight, and evaluation of HR innovation initiatives.
  • Be a stellar role model of personal and business ethics; be the gatekeeper of ethical practices and honorable behaviors throughout the organization.
  • Demonstrate a resounding commitment to responsible gaming and responsible alcohol service including the discouragement/prevention of problem gambling and underage gambling/consumption of alcohol.

For this role you need:

  • Working knowledge of HR systems and applications, development of impactful presentations showing business value, process analysis and recommendations.
  • Global, organization wide HCM implementation and optimization experience, ideally with Workday, as well as other enterprise HR platforms and applications
  • Minimum 7 years of demonstrated experience leading and working on geographically distributed, global, multi-functional and matrixed teams.
  • Minimum 10 years experience in Labor Relations required.
  • Minumum 5 years experience at an Executive (VP) level in HR or above required.
  • Experience with Agile and Waterfall software development life cycles.
  • Experience managing a budget, estimating and forecasting.
  • Prior management of vendors, system integrators and support teams.
  • Understanding, experience, and skills with process re-engineering.
  • Strong emerging skill experience and comprehension in AI and ML, conversational design, bias avoidance, security, data privacy, content management.
  • Consistently makes timely decisions even in the face of complexity, balancing systematic analysis with decisiveness.
  • Excellent leadership and exceptional executive presence, with the ability to attract, recruit, retain and develop future leaders.

  • Experience specifically with optimization of Workday HCM

Experience:

  • Must apply for, obtain and remain eligible for the appropriate Seminole Tribal Gaming License
  • Ten or more years experience in Labor Relations required
  • Five or more years at an Executive (VP) level in HR or above required
  • Human Resources executive-level experience in a Casino/Hotel environment preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education/experience required
  • Proven strategic plan development and policy/procedure writing required
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Outlook required.
