Senior Manager, Product Management - Observability

Product Management at Capital One is a booming, vibrant craft that requires reimagining the status quo, finding value creation opportunities, and driving innovative and sustainable customer experiences through technology.

In this role, you will help define and execute against a roadmap of strategic data initiatives that deliver on business outcomes for Capital One. You will be expected to apply integrated problem solving to build frameworks for complex decision making and getting to the right answer.

In this role, you'll learn the essentials of being a product manager, and we'll invest in you to grow in four key areas:

  1. Human Centered
    1. You'll collaborate with tech teams to build comprehensive acceptance criteria, identifying and elevating any need for additional research to define future feature design.
    2. You'll breakdown business epics into features and further into user stories, driving your team towards lowest effort or Minimal Viable Product (MVP) for a valid feature test.
  2. Business Focused
    1. Demonstrating a growth mindset, you'll effectively use hypothesis-driven assessment of data to ensure your product or feature delivers on real business needs.
    2. You'll own and prioritize feature development roadmaps, ensuring all necessary processes and procedures are followed to manage risk.
  3. Technology Driven
    1. You'll work autonomously in an agile environment, to conduct research and develop features that utilize new and evolving technology.
    2. You'll collaborate with designers, technologists, data scientists and subject-matter experts to build cutting edge solutions to help customers.
    3. You'll deliver well-managed product platforms for customers by seeking to understand technology trends and architecture strategy.
  4. Transformational Leadership
    1. By actively participating in horizontal forums, you'll harness a network of trusted relationships among tech teams, designers, key internal stakeholders and partner teams.
    2. You'll articulate a succinct product roadmap to deliver business value and share with stakeholders, elevating your team's results and becoming a product matter expert.

As part of the Data Observability team, you'll:

  1. Create a multi-year strategy to scale and enhance our data quality and lineage products.
  2. Lead implementation across multiple tech teams.
  3. Cultivate and grow junior product management talent on our team.
  4. Partner, lead and influence a data observability agenda across the Enterprise.

Basic Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's Degree or military experience.
  2. At least 5 years of experience in product management or at least 5 years of experience in product design, agile delivery, business analysis, data science, or software engineering.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree in computer science or engineering.
  2. MBA or Master's degree.
  3. 3+ years translating business strategy or analysis into consumer facing digital products.
  4. 3+ years of experience working on core product platforms powering digital experiences.
  5. 3+ years working with cross functional teams as a product owner in an agile development process.

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location:

  • New York City (Hybrid On-Site): $199,100 - $227,200 for Sr. Mgr, Product Management
  • San Francisco and San Jose, California (Hybrid On-Site): $210,900 - $240,700 for Sr. Mgr, Product Management

This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI).
