Your compensation will range between $85,000-$90,000 annually.

What you'll do

A day in the life of our Assistant Director of Housekeeping & Laundry Operations… it demands high levels of energy in order to keep up. They need consistency even though the days are never alike; and creativity to tackle daily adventures. The following tasks are essential:

  1. Manages 10 to 12 subordinate managers and supervisors who supervise a total of 75 to 100 employees in the Housekeeping, Laundry and Uniform Departments.
  2. Recruits, interviews, hires, trains, recommends performance evaluations, resolves problems, provides open communication and recommends discipline and/or termination when appropriate.
  3. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.
  4. Supervises team members to ensure completion of daily tasks and assists with further development of their potential within Dorchester Collection.
  5. Ensures seamless delivery of guest services & requests. Owns guests requests and PROmisses. Guest & employee engagement. Preventative maintenance projects. LRA audits, NEXUS service excellence metrics. Financial performance.
  6. Holds regular daily, weekly and monthly communication briefings with team members of all levels.
  7. Oversees the ordering of all supplies, inclusive of laundry, to ensure that levels are maintained and that purchasing is in line with budget.
  8. Conducts inspections of rooms, public areas and back of house areas on a regular basis to ensure that high standards are maintained at all times.
  9. Ensures that linen is properly controlled, accounted for and that quality of linen/laundry service is reviewed daily.
  10. Oversees the linen inventories with the Director of Housekeeping and Laundry Manager.
  11. Ensures that uniforms for all staff are maintained and controlled and coordinated with designers as required.
  12. Proposes and initiates, when approved, new services and products for our guests.
  13. Works closely with Director of Engineering to oversee maintenance of all rooms and public areas as required.
  14. Conducts regular maintenance walkthroughs of the property with engineering management to identify any areas that require remedial action and to coordinate the timely completion of such.
  15. Works constantly with the engineering management team to ensure that any out of order rooms are returned to inventory as soon as possible.
  16. Appraises performance, rewards and disciplines employees, addressing complaints and resolving problems in a timely and transparent manner.
