SUMMARY:Under basic supervision, cleans and maintains Teton County/Jackson Recreation Center facilities according to safety rules and quality standards keeping areas in clean and orderly condition. Duties may include cleaning snow and debris from entrances and grounds.


PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The job description is subject to change at any time by the employer. Essential duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Performs custodial and janitorial duties in all areas of Recreation Center building; maintain attractive, sanitary, and safe facilities for Recreation staff and public; duties may vary according to job assignment.
  • Cleans floors, walls, and windows using manual and power equipment; empties trash receptacles; cleans sidewalks and entrance ways; cleans and disinfects restrooms; sanitizes toilets, sinks, and fixtures; restocks restroom supplies.
  • Follows all safety rules and regulations and cleans up spills and unsafe conditions in a timely manner; notifies supervisor of safety hazards, equipment problems, repair and replacement needs, and emergency situations.
  • Supports the relationship between Teton County staff and the general public by demonstrating courteous and cooperative behavior when interacting with visitors and County staff; maintains confidentiality of work-related issues and County information; performs other duties as required or assigned.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:


Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Some related work experience is preferred.

    Required Knowledge of:

    • County policies and procedures.
    • Materials, methods, tools, and equipment used in cleaning.
    • Safe work practices, occupational hazards, and safety precautions in public facilities.

    Required Skills in:

    • Using basic tools in a safe and effective manner.
    • Following written and verbal instructions and procedures, including proper use and storage of chemicals.
    • Communicating effectively verbally and in writing.
    • Working with minimal supervision.
    • Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with co-workers.

    Physical Demands/Work Environment:

    • Work is performed both indoors and outdoors; requires moderate physical effort and may be exposed to dangerous tools and equipment; safety precautions must be followed, including use of safety equipment.
