Vaupell Midwest (Constantine, MI) is plastic injection molding location focusing on manufacturing in medical, aeronautical, defense, and other sectors.
Position Duties:
- Utilize Scientific Injection Molding technology to problem solve current production problems.
- Provide technical support for production.
- Verify master cycle cards for product specifications such as dimensions and tolerances and maintain equipment to established parameters.
- Troubleshoot and remedy situations that do not meet specifications.
- Establish and maintain written procedures per ISO requirements.
- Initiate action to prevent the occurrence of any non-conformities relating to the product, process, and quality systems.
- Responsible for ensuring that line clearances have taken place properly.
- Oversee assigned presses, equipment, and materials.
- Check all necessary auxiliary equipment each shift.
- Responsible for pulling and setting molds.
- Assist in the training of operators and other team members as needed.
- Follow all safety rules, procedures, and preventative measures.
- Follow all Six “S” requirements.
- All other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications & Skills:
- High School diploma or GED.
- A minimum of three (3) years Process Technician experience within Plastic Injection molding or RJG Master Molders Certificate.
- Forklift and crane experience preferred and able to obtain Forklift and Crane permits within 30-days.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
- Able to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Average computer skills and knowledge to navigate through and input data into computer software programs.
- Able to effectively communication with differing communication styles.
- Math comprehension and add, subtract, multiple and divide in all unites of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Aptitude to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written oral and diagram form.
- Solve problems professionally that involve several concrete or abstract variables.
- Attention to detail.
- Able to lifts objects up to 50 pounds by hand with or without an accommodation.
- Ability to read, analyze, and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
- Effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees of the organization.
- Effective and understandable professional written and verbal communication skills.
- Able to multi-task and prioritize priorities simultaneously.
