Description

Mabbett & Associates, Inc. (Mabbett®) is an award-winning and industry leading environmental, health and safety (EH&S) consulting and engineering firm. Mabbett provides consulting services to a wide variety of clients, including those in the healthcare, biotechnology, research and development industries, as well as federal agencies and academia. We are seeking a Group Director, Environmental Compliance with a strong consulting background and extensive environmental compliance expertise to join our growing team. The Group Director will oversee the firm's environmental compliance technical services, including the execution of large-scale federal projects nationwide, and lead the group's business development initiatives in alignment with the firm's growth objectives. As a member of the firm's Management Committee, the Group Director will have a significant role in shaping the direction of the environmental compliance practice. There is further growth potential, including promotion to Vice President and beyond.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the Environmental Compliance Group, serving as a Senior Program Director and Project Manager for high-value projects.
  • Provide senior-level technical consulting and project management services to clients.
  • Oversee the daily operations of the Environmental Compliance Group.
  • Develop and implement marketing and business development strategies to grow the practice area.
  • Ensure the delivery of high-quality technical reports and project deliverables through senior-level QA/QC.
  • Supervise, mentor, and train team members, fostering a culture of excellence and growth.
  • Respond to client inquiries, prepare scopes of work, and manage proposals and project budgets.
  • Travel as needed for project execution, marketing, and business development activities.


Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in environmental sciences, public health, environmental engineering, environmental law, or a related field; master's degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in environmental compliance consulting, including hazardous waste management, permitting, compliance audits, regulatory reporting (e.g., SARA, TURA, air emissions), and management systems.
  • A professional certification such as CHMM, ISO 14001 Lead Auditor, QEP, PE, CPEA or IEMA-PEA is required.
  • Certification as a Massachusetts Toxics Use Reduction Planner (TURP) is required within nine months of hire, if not already held.
  • U.S. Citizenship required; active federal security clearance preferred or ability to obtain a federal security clearance.
  • Demonstrated success in managing and mentoring teams in a consulting and engineering environment.
  • Expertise in medical treatment facilities (e.g., VA Medical Centers), life sciences, manufacturing, and federal government projects.
  • Proven ability in marketing, business development, and proposal preparation.
  • Exceptional leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office® products.
