Job Description
Exhibit proficiency in all of the following: blood collection by venipuncture and capillary technique from patients of all age groups, pediatric blood collections, and difficult draws (patients in medical office buildings). Has a comprehensive understanding of compliance and safety, and can effectively communicate the importance of compliance and safety to other employees. Possess the ability and skills necessary to provide orientation and training for patient service technicians. All interaction with minors will be supervised by a supervisor or RN.
Responsibilities
Work will be conducted in outpatient clinics at various locations including Coachella Valley (covering Palm Desert, Palm Springs, and Dr, Palm Desert, CA), Palm Springs (1100 N Palm Canyon Dr, Palm Springs, CA), and Indio (46900 Monroe St, Indio, CA). If desired, additional hours can be picked up at busy locations in Riverside Service Areas including Iris MOB II, Murrieta, and Riverside. The work environment is professional, and the dress code adheres to standard healthcare attire.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $25.00

Responsibilities
- Perform blood collection by venipuncture and capillary technique from patients of all age groups.
- Conduct pediatric blood collections and handle difficult draws in medical office buildings.
- Understand and ensure compliance and safety standards are met.
- Communicate the importance of compliance and safety to other employees.
- Provide orientation and training for patient service technicians.
- Proficiency in phlebotomy techniques such as venipuncture and capillary collection.
- Experience with neonatal phlebotomy.
- Ability to process specimens.
- Familiarity with Cerner or similar lab systems.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Computer savvy.
- Possession of a CPT 1 License.
- High School Diploma.
- Experience working as a Lab Assistant or Phlebotomist.
- Available for an on-call schedule, typically 32 hours per week on average (range could be 24 - 40 hours).
