Overview

The Senior Accountant for Kodiak Building Partners will be responsible for all aspects of the corporate books and records. This position will report to the Director of Accounting. This is a great opportunity for an experienced candidate to work for a growing company.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close process ensuring it's completed accurately, including the review of all Balance Sheet and Profit & Loss statements for all corporate entities.
  • Preparation of complex journal entries including expense allocations, accruals, payroll, prepaid amortizations, intercompany entries, etc.
  • Reconciliation and tracking of complex prepaid expenses, accrued expenses and allocations.
  • Communicate effectively with various departments to ensure accurate accounting for health benefits, business insurance and expense allocations.
  • Analyze and communicate corporate financial results with department heads regarding performance to budgets.
  • Perform the corporate A/P function ensuring all invoices are processed, approved and paid timely as well as ensuring proper coding of expenses.
  • Assist in the annual financial audit process, providing necessary information and schedules to the technical accounting team.
  • Develop, drive, and improve internal policies & procedures to ensure compliance and the highest integrity of the Company's results.
  • Work cross-functionally with other departments to increase financial reporting accuracy.
  • Ad hoc projects as required
  • Regular travel required (up to 5%)
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS OF CANDIDATE:

EXPERIENCE:
  • 3-7 years of accounting experience preferred working in a corporate environment.
  • Strong understanding of accounting theory/GAAP and ability to perform research as necessary.
  • Relevant industry experience, building or distribution or real estate industry preferred
  • Must be detail oriented, and technically minded
  • Ability to meet strict deadlines and prioritize
  • Strong research and reconciliation skills required
  • Experience with learning new financial accounting systems
  • Knowledge and exposure to multi-company organizations a plus

EDUCATION:

Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field required

COMPENSATION:

Annual salary $80,000 - 95,000
