Job Summary: We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Hygienist to join our dental team. The ideal candidate will be committed to providing exceptional patient care and have a strong background in oral hygiene and preventive dental care. As a Dental Hygienist, you will be responsible for performing dental cleanings, educating patients on oral health, and assisting the dentist with various procedures. Key Responsibilities: Patient Care: Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling, root planing, and polishing. Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) as needed. Assess and document patients’ oral health conditions, including gum health, and identify potential issues. Apply preventive treatments such as fluoride and sealants. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, diet, and preventive care to improve overall dental health. Collaboration: Assist the dentist with various procedures, including preparing instruments and materials. Review and update patients’ medical histories and treatment plans. Communicate with patients to address their concerns and provide support for their treatment plans. Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, including treatment notes and progress reports. Ensure all documentation is up-to-date and complies with regulatory standards. Practice Management: Adhere to infection control and safety protocols to maintain a clean and safe clinical environment. Assist with administrative tasks such as scheduling patient appointments and managing patient flow. Stay current with advancements in dental hygiene practices and technologies. Qualifications: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Dental Hygiene from an accredited program. Valid state dental hygiene license and certification in CPR. Proven experience as a dental hygienist, with a strong understanding of dental procedures and patient care. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients and staff. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Preferred Skills: Experience with dental practice management software. Knowledge of advanced dental hygiene techniques and technologies.
