Who we are looking for:
We are currently searching for an experienced Slitter Assistant to be based out of Harvey, IL, located approximately 30 miles south of Downtown Chicago. Reporting to the Manufacturing Supervisor, the Slitter Assistant will be responsible for assisting the slitter operator in the set up, changeover and running of the slitting machines in the facility.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years' experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Experience in lean manufacturing or business system-based company is a plus.

Reporting to the Manufacturing Supervisor, the Slitter Assistant will be responsible for assisting the slitter operator in the set up, changeover and running of the slitting machines in the facility.

What you'll do:
- Set up overarm to specifications.
- Tape and band all finished slit coils.
- Tape, tag and mark all steel slits as to defects, holes, lost trim, carbon stain, lamination and mill welds.
- Keep supplies on hand by notifying supervisor in time to reorder.
- Assist operator to feed master coils through slitting machine.
- Move slit coils off recoiler.
- Feed cardboard strips into slit coils when slitter is running.
- Experience in industrial manufacturing
- Slitter experience
- Ability to pass the post offer employment process with drug screen
- Show progress and/or complete job specific training
- Be well-versed in Atkore's Business System and the importance of your role to daily operations
- Gain a basic understanding of required duties and job expectations.
