Tech, Media, Telecom Policy Analyst (Vice President, Senior Vice President) Department: Policy Research Employment Type: Full Time Location: Washington, DC Compensation: $10 / year Description Washington Analysis' Policy Analysts provide independent and objective analysis and forecasting to the global investment community. Our team delivers actionable and timely research to our clients regarding the investment implications of legislative, regulatory, political, and legal developments. The analyst will research, analyze, and forecast for the institutional investment community policy issues that impact publicly traded and privately held technology, media, and telecommunications (TMT) firms. These issues include, but are not limited to, federal and state legislative, regulatory, enforcement, and litigation matters, as well as material political developments. The analyst will be responsible for producing written research and analysis, hosting topic-specific conference calls and events, and engaging directly with clients. The analyst will respond to client inquiries and regularly engage with clients on these and additional topics. This is not an entry-level position. Compensation and title (Vice President, Senior Vice President) negotiable based on experience. This role offers hybrid/remote flexibility, but strong preference for candidates in the Washington, DC area. Key Responsibilities Identify and analyze TMT policy themes and developments emanating from lawmakers, regulators (e.g., FCC, NTIA, FTC, DOJ), and the courts that present actionable investment opportunities Provide forward-looking analysis of policy risks and opportunities with a focus on issues related to broadcasting, cable and satellite, telecommunications and wireless, Internet and social media, entertainment, technology equipment, semiconductors, and artificial intelligence Connect policy risks and opportunities to publicly traded companies Publish timely and concise research reports on various topics within coverage Host conference calls and events with primary-source subject-matter experts on key topics Speak and travel to meet with institutional investors one-on-one and in group settings Conduct and coordinate due diligence research projects on tight deadlines Skills, Knowledge and Expertise Bachelor's degree plus and relevant work experience Experience analyzing, writing, and presenting on public policy developments Strong ability to communicate complex information effectively in writing and in person Prior technology, media, and telecommunications policy experience, either in investment research, government, or outside stakeholder role (i.e., law firm, lobbying firm, trade association, advocacy group, think tank, advisory firm) At least one of the following credentials a plus, though not required: advanced degree in public policy, JD, MBA, or CFA (or equivalent) Knowledge of and interest in the financial markets Ability to work independently and collaboratively within our team environment Entrepreneurial spirit and desire to help build and grow WA's policy research business Benefits 14 days of Vacation 14 Sick Days 1 paid volunteer day 18 Holidays a year Health, & Term Insurance Dental Benefit Company paid Life & Disability Insurance Competitive Pay Annual Performance Bonus
