The Core OS Energy Technologies group is looking for a dedicated and experienced technical software engineering manager to lead the team designing and implementing system power and battery management algorithms. Our systems are ever more powerful and running under very tight power delivery constraints! In this unique and highly visible role, working with other software and system teams, you will lead your team to define, develop and seek adoption of novel power management algorithms, aiming to invent a roadmap of scalable solutions with system power supply and demand always in mind. Key Qualifications
Experience leading a systems software, low-level driver or firmware development team Strong embedded software engineering skills Consistent track record of successful and timely software product delivery with complex dependencies Passionate about designing effective algorithms, inspired by the analysis of big data Demonstrated innovative, critical thinking and troubleshooting skills Excellent collaborative skills including written and verbal communication History of motivating teams to innovate and meet ambitious goals Genuine passion for low-level system engineering and hardware/software integration Description
Lead a team of experienced power management software engineers, working cross-functionally with system architects, electrical engineers, battery engineers, system software engineers, and many other functional software engineering teams. Manage several challenging projects while handling conflicting priorities. Set expectations with software, silicon, hardware stakeholders and navigate through conflicting points of view. Balance high-quality product delivery under extremely tight schedules while fostering long-term innovation. Act as a technical leader when design directions are ambiguous. Strengthen the team by hiring and retaining top engineering talents. Education & Experience
Bachelor, Master degree or equivalent experience in computer science or a related field. Additional Requirements
Pay & Benefits At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $173,000 and $260,000, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple’s Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
