WHAT YOU’LL DO As the Director, Application and System Development, you will: Define and implement the enterprise application and system development strategy in alignment with business objectives and digital transformation goals. Lead the design and development of system architecture that supports business growth and operational efficiency. Ensure seamless integration between enterprise applications/systems, databases, and third-party platforms. Maintain a comprehensive system architecture plan to ensure current and future system scalability. Establish and maintain best practices in software development, ensuring that applications and systems are reliable, secure, and meet performance benchmarks. Implement quality assurance protocols, including automated testing, code reviews, and performance monitoring. Manage relationships with third-party vendors, consultants, and service providers. Ensure the continuous improvement of existing applications, driving enhancements and new features to support operational needs. Evaluate and recommend new technologies and development tools that can add value to the organization. Work closely with the Director, Custom System Development and Online Services to ensure that the custom systems and enterprise applications/systems are seamlessly integrated with the proper data and workflow. WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR APhA may be the right fit for you if you have: Experience and Education required: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Information Systems or Business Administration with a concentration in Information Systems required; Advanced degree a plus. A minimum of 8+ years in developing and planning innovative prototypes within various technical platforms and a minimum of 1+ years supervising technical staff. Experience with agile software development methodology and agile modeling techniques. Experience leading technical development products across all phases of their lifecycle. Skills, knowledge and abilities required: Demonstrated experience working with multiple functional disciplines to ensure the on-time delivery of high-quality software products and services. Demonstrated success working with on- and off-site teams to develop and launch excellent technical products. Demonstrated success building highly scalable web products, including web applications, APIs, and mobile applications. Experience applying emerging digital media technologies. Strong understanding of service-oriented and resource-oriented architectures and responsive design principles. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority. Ability to troubleshoot issues across all layers of the stack. Solid understanding of the .NET Framework. Ability to interact effectively with a wide variety of people of diverse professional backgrounds. Excellent organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills. Flexible and collaborative work style with a pro-active and solutions-oriented approach. Ability to successfully plan, implement, and lead complex technical projects. Professional development focus: ability and interest to stay current with new technologies. Proven tolerance to stress: ability to function effectively in a demanding, deadline-oriented and constantly changing work environment. Ability to do cost analysis using standard financial concepts to determine the impacts of technical decisions.
