NexGen Data Systems is seeking an Agile Project Manager (PM) who can add significant value to a team of motivated, self-directed individuals for the planning and production support of Project Management functions supporting a large datacenter team. The ideal candidate will be motivated, organized, operate with a high sense of urgency and be highly detail oriented. Candidates will also apply Industry PM experience to execute management efforts independently and advise stakeholders on recommended execution plans and capabilities. Candidates should have knowledge in execution of multiple types of PM methodologies (Waterfall, scrum, kanban, etc.).

Roles and Responsibilities:

Work as an integral part of the Project Management team to develop operational policies, procedures, standards, and guidelines based on best practices and compliance requirements. Execute Prioritization of work efforts across multiple projects, recognizing and addressing impediments in a timely/urgent manner. Independently manage different types of Project management methodologies and teams as required. Provide PM expertise to assist in the identification of the appropriate PM methodology for assigned projects. Independently work with technical teams and stakeholders to define requirements and develop execution plans based on industry standards and PM experience. Execute with a sense of urgency to continue driving the success of assigned projects. (Also ensure technical teams operate with a sense of urgency) Develop detailed MS project schedules as required for projects depending on methodology used. Participate in Risk Management, evaluating risk levels and implications. (Includes risk identification and escalation) Identify and resolve barriers/impediments to progress and project goals. Have a solid understanding of what questions to ask and the ability to work with leadership/stakeholders to resolve issues effectively and efficiently. Participate in Configuration Management practices and procedures. Ensure execution of required practices and procedures for all projects and technical teams managed. This includes execution and tracking RFCs to completion for managed teams if necessary. Execute/Coach Agile Scrum ceremonies/practices for multiple projects/manage scrum artifacts. Ie. Scrum Master, Backlog development, retrospectives, sprint planning standups etc...This includes execution of the following: Developing and managing detailed backlogs for each scrum team assigned. Proactively work with the product owners to develop and manage the backlog and ensure work is captured accurately in appropriate project management tools. Independently drive execution and identification of work with the technical teams. Understanding of capacity and resource management. Possess the ability to identify the resources/skill sets needed to accomplish projects. Identify and communicate resources/skillset needs to leadership effectively. Delivering and reporting of key milestones for each scrum team assigned. Understand reporting requirements based on Industry recognized project management standards. Determine appropriate requirements that best suit the needs of the projects being managed based on industry standards. Identify key metrics for stakeholders based on industry standards. Milestones should include detailed goals and estimated completion dates. Proactively and independently configure project management tools to provide required reporting metrics. Develop professional status reports that communicate clear/detailed project status to stakeholders. Facilitate daily standups appropriate for each assigned scrum team by using the appropriate teams backlogs/Jira boards to conduct the standups. Support and execute all applicable phases of project lifecycle (e.g. planning, initiation, execution, close-out) Coordinate and track the execution of project activities across team members and facilitate meetings, phone conferences, and establishment of working groups as needed. Assigns task responsibilities to project team members. Manages internal and external client expectations. Identifies, assesses, and minimizes project risks to successful project completion. Requirements

Desired/Required Skills:

Six (6) years of direct experience with IT design management required. Agile Scrum and Kanban experience Bachelors degree in engineering, computer science or IT realm and/or a PMP Secret clearance or higher preferred Basic MS Project knowledge is required, expert knowledge is a plus. 2+ years experience using Atlassian Tool suite (JIRA/Confluence). Expert knowledge is a plus One or more of the following Certifications (or commensurate): PMP, PMI-RMP, plus the Certified Scrum Master certification. Ability to work cooperatively in a multi-functional team environment (team player). Effective communication at all levels of support to include leadership to Tiered technical levels. Ability to collaborate with awareness and responsiveness to customer needs. Commitment to continuous development and improvement Excellent interpersonal and communication (verbal and written) skills. Ability to gauge the roles and responsibilities of key players and effectively resolve escalation of technical issues or conflict across an organization as needed. Ability to resolve conflict at the lowest level A strong sense of urgency including self-governance on task priority. Ability to coach, motivate teams and monitor scrum processes to increase efficiency. A strong drive for execution and completion. Independent problem solving is key.
