As a Sr. Software Developer, Mobile within the Mobile Shopping Foundations organization, you will play a crucial role to enable hundreds of store builders across Amazon to fearlessly innovate to create beautiful, fluid, and performant experiences optimized for mobile to delight shoppers worldwide.
About you: You are a Sr. Software Developer looking to build and expand on your passion for mobile devices. You want to challenge yourself to solve complex problems at scale that have never been encountered anywhere else. You want to exercise and expand your creative thinking skills and technical chops to become an even deeper expert in the mobile space. You are passionate about mobile and want to work with an equally passionate and driven team to invent new technologies to disrupt the world of application development on mobile devices. You want to talk directly to your customers and partners to shape the vision for code quality, design, and architecture for the mobile app rendering stack.
About us: The Mobile Shopping Foundation organization operates the Amazon Mobile Shopping app, building and releasing app binaries worldwide as a vehicle for hundreds of mobile builders at Amazon to create, integrate, and maintain shopping experiences. We build the APIs, frameworks, services, and tooling to power Amazon shopping experiences on mobile.
We're going to change the way customers shop on mobile applications. Along the way, we're going to face challenging and interesting problems that no one else has seen. We’ll leverage our camaraderie, diversity, and strong culture to break down walls to find solutions that challenge our original assumptions, make the tough decisions, and deliver a final product that’s superior to the proposals we started with.
Basic Qualifications: - 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience - 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience - 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability, and scaling) of new and existing systems experience - Experience as a mentor, tech lead, or leading an engineering team - 3+ years of native mobile programming experience on Android or iOS
Preferred Qualifications: - 5+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience - Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

Compensation: Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $151,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $261,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
