Opportunity Overview Are you an experienced engineering manager with a passion for complex instrument development and product delivery? Do you want to join a global leader in electronics testing and innovation? If so, Teradyne is looking for you! The Director of Business Development will be based in Silicon Valley, California. This role will report to the President of Nextest Business Unit and is a key member of the group’s leadership team. This director role will have 2-5 direct reports. In this role you will lead the business development, sales strategy, and marketing operations for memory test products. This role involves collaborating with multiple teams in marketing, sales, and operations, as well as understanding multiple memory segments – DRAM final test/wafer sort and Flash final test/wafer etc. – and working alongside our customers who are small to large international semiconductor companies. Participate and influence the organization to implement successful sales strategies for our memory test markets. Identify, win and negotiate business with key customers. Ensure that customer commitments and support are delivered to Teradyne standards of quality and customer satisfaction. Establish and maintain a collaborative working environment across product management, project management, research and engineering development teams, including production operations and support. Lead and support staff members in the strategic direction of the business unit. Develop competitive differentiation through sales and marketing collateral. Coordinate key customer relationships and strategic engagement activities. Participate in defining and executing the group’s mid-term plan. Grow market share by prioritizing, targeting, and supporting strategic design-in activities, including resource trade-offs. Develop product pricing strategy for the market, as well as work with sales on account discounting, including pricing approval to ensure rationalized pricing across the customer base. Responsible for the searching and incubation of new business development opportunities that leverage the core capabilities of the group. Work with Operations to build memory test systems based on the business forecast. Responsible for booking and revenue forecast for short term and long term and memory TAM estimates for short term and long term. BS / MS degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science or Business/Finance. 15+ years of product development, sales, and/or marketing experience for a “tier one” corporation with a reputation for delivering world-class products. Ability to lead all aspects of a growing business including market development, customer engagement, and sales; organize activities and operations to accomplish goals and objectives. A verifiable track record of excellent professional accomplishments and experience with significant periods of very high growth. A history of successfully handling complex product businesses with solid growth and strong financial performance. This person will be a “change agent” and have a “make things happen” attitude; acts quickly and decisively when the market requires such agility. Strategic forward-thinking and participatory leader who influences, motivates, and inspires around a vision of the group’s future. Ability to travel as required; global travel up to 30%.
