We're on the lookout for an accomplished engineer with a deep passion for AI/ML to orchestrate our mission of crafting mind-blowing canonical knowledge graph in Apple's Music, Books, and Podcasts domains. You’ll be joining a dynamic team that models diverse data sources, maps, clusters and canonicalizes them together into a symphony of enriched metadata knowledge graphs. This team isn't just about data; we are about transforming information into a powerhouse source of truth for Music, Books, and Podcasts metadata at Apple! Description As a lead-level AI/ML Engineer, you will drive the development, implementation, and scaling of machine learning models, AI systems, and data-driven products. In this role, you’ll be the guiding force behind our knowledge graph team, working closely with multi-functional geo-distributed teams—data science, engineering, product, operations, and business—to innovate and tackle sophisticated challenges using cutting-edge AI technologies. You’ll also mentor AI/ML engineers, champion strategic AI initiatives, and contribute to the organization’s vision and roadmap for AI innovation. Ready to make history? Join our team! Minimum Qualifications 10+ years of experience in AI/ML, with at least 2+ years in a technical lead role. Proven track record of leading successful AI/ML project from conception to deployment. Expertise in relevant programming languages, such as Python, Java, Scala, or Go. Expertise in working with a variety of AI/ML frameworks, tools, and programming languages (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, Python, R, etc.). Expertise in key areas such as deep learning, NLP, reinforcement learning. Experience with state-of-the-art GenAI techniques and concepts (e.g., LLMs, Multi-Modal, Large Vision Models). Ability to work collaboratively cross-functionally beyond team boundaries and influence senior leaders. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science or related field, or 5 years development experience and PhD in Computer science or related field. Key Qualifications Preferred Qualifications Proven problem-solving and leadership abilities, with the capacity to steer the team’s goals and practical applications in a collaborative and fast-paced environment. Experience with large-scale data processing and feature engineering pipelines. Familiarity with computer vision. Familiarity with data governance. Education & Experience Additional Requirements At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $197,400 and $296,300, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple’s Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
