CBS News 24/7 -- our signature national news stream -- is seeking an experienced Producer who is prepared to set the agenda for a new national newscast! We need someone to be the backbone of the CBS stream's 24/7 promise, offering breaking news from around the world, best-in-class storytelling, on-the-ground reporting, and a behind-the-scenes look at how coverage comes together. We use innovative AR/VR technology to improve the experience, providing context, transparency, and accuracy.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
Originate, research, write, produce, and edit news segments for a 60-minute newscasts. Collaborate with national assignment editors, reporters, writers, and executive producers while making editorial and content decisions in accordance with CBS guidelines and standards. Work both in the control room demonstrating adaptability and composure in fast paced situations, including breaking news. Oversee editing, script writing and creation of news graphics. Time programs and segments with a good sense of pacing, energy and urgency. Embrace change and innovation, constantly seeking new ideas and approaches to connect with our audience. Uphold impeccable grammar, spelling, and attention to detail in all content produced while ensuring active, conversational style writing. Exhibit strong editorial judgment, effective communication, and critical thinking skills. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum of 5 years of broadcast or cable news experience. Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience. Proven background in journalism and television production, including solid news judgment, rundown management, and concise broadcast writing. Previous experience working in a live control room, including serving as a Line Producer in a live-news environment. PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Must be able to sit at desk for long periods of time and operate keyboard. A detailed physical description is on file. This position will be covered under the WGAE streaming agreement and is based at the CBS News bureau in San Francisco.

The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, tuition assistance program and PTO or, if applicable, as otherwise dictated by the appropriate Collective Bargaining Agreement.
