LEISURE SERVICES REPRESENTATIVE (SEASONAL)
Hiring Range: $18.00 per hour About the Position: The Seasonal Leisure Services Representative provides information to City and County residents, City departments, general public and outside agencies related to Parks and Recreation services and programs.
The position will be 20-40 hours per week starting in February 2025 until May 2025. This position will work within the hours of 8 am - 5 pm, Monday - Friday and has the flexibility to work around school schedules. About Grand Junction Parks and Recreation:
The recreation division offers a variety of programs for all ages. We have sports leagues for youth and adults, as well as a variety of camps, recreation programs, and aquatics offerings. What You'll Do: Assist customers in person, over the telephone and via the internet. Process rentals and reservations of park shelters, fields, and other facilities. Prepare permits, contracts and supporting documents. Create and maintain booking calendars for various facilities. Collect and process a high volume of monies including registration and facility use payments and program registrations. Process Summer Camp paperwork including immunization records. Utilize various computer hardware and software packages including word processing and database applications. Compile, prepare, enter and update data from various sources. Maintain customer accounts and activity/course information. Prepare mass mailings, flyers and brochures. Perform other accounting and clerical functions as required.
Qualifications
What We're Looking For:
Applicants must be able to successfully pass a drug screen, background check, and, if required for the specific position, a physical examination. Two years of increasingly responsible customer service experience, both in person and on the phone. Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade. Great customer service skills. Ability to accurately calculate, record and balance assigned transactions. Ability to work in a fast paced environment and learn the operations, services and activities of the Parks and Recreation Department.

Paid Sick Time: Employees accrue Paid Sick Time at the rate of one (1) hour for every 30 hours worked, up to 48 hours per year. Accrual begins on the employee's date of hire. Paid Sick Time may be used for reasons related to mental or physical illness, injury, or health conditions. Unused Sick Time will be paid out upon separation of employment.
Parks & Recreation Benefits: Seasonal employees are eligible for Aquatics benefits if they work an average of 10 hours per week. Employees and their immediate family members may purchase a $25 annual Aquatics pass for use of the Lincoln Park-Moyer Pool and Orchard Mesa Pool.
Paid Time Off: Seasonal employees working more than 1040 hours in the previous season accrue eight (8) hours of PTO at the beginning of their second season and accrue eight (8) additional hours with each season worked, up to a maximum of 40 hours. Balances do not carry over from year to year and, if not used, will be paid to the employee at the end of the season.
Employee Assistance Program: Confidential, short-term counseling and referral system for employees.
457 Deferred Compensation Retirement Savings Account: Seasonal employees who work over 1040 hours per year are eligible to participate in this tax deferred retirement savings plan.
