Position Overview
The Medical Science Liaisons (MSL), or Senior Medical Science Liaisons, are responsible for developing and expanding the clinical community’s knowledge of the role for Minimal Residual Disease (MRD) in the management of lymphoid malignancies by educating and informing physicians about Adaptive's technology, including the clonoSEQ Assay. The MSL, or Senior MSL, educates and informs healthcare providers (and potentially other key stakeholders) about the use of our technology in the management of patients across several disease states by engaging in timely, appropriate scientific exchange. This role provides clinical and scientific expertise in support of medical information, research, and education.
As a Senior MSL, your role also includes developing creative and innovative tactics for addressing the specific needs of key customers; represent real time voice of customer input related product development opportunities.
Duties and Responsibilities
Develop and maintain significant scientific relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) and other healthcare providers in both the academic and community settings
Serve as a trusted clinical education/information subject matter expert to HCPs to help them better understand how MRD can be implemented in the patient’s clinical journey
Provide internal teams with feedback and insights from interactions and discussions with HCPs
Coordinate local and regional investigator sponsor trial initiatives
Manage IST milestones and objectives
Report on scientific sessions at congresses
Respond to and document unsolicited requests for scientific information
Provide clinical input and assist with training to internal functions as requested
Provide support for content development and delivery of clinical presentations at Advisory Boards
Work closely with other field-based teams and HQ staff to respond to information requests in a timely manner
Leads multiple highly-complex projects of diverse scope where analysis requires an understanding of current business trends and industry leading practices
Additional Key Responsibilities and Essential Functions for a Senior MSL
Address complex scientific/clinical topics and projects with minimal/no oversight
Act independently to determine methods and procedures regarding special assignments or projects.
Serve as clinical expert, educate and inform small local/regional groups and potentially advocacy groups
Function as a strategic representative for medical affairs on cross-functional and organization wide initiatives.
Implement sophisticated analytical thought to lead problem analysis and innovative resolutions for complex issues
MSL Requirements
Doctorate-level degree (PhD, PharmD, MD, DNP) or Advanced professional degree with significant clinically relevant experience (PA, NP) required
Prior Medical Science Liaison experience preferred
Working knowledge of regulatory guidance and reporting requirements required
Strong presentations skills including excellent verbal and written communication
Relevant Industry and/or clinical therapeutic-specific experience
Existing relationships with academic institutions and key opinion leaders preferred
Demonstrated understanding of clinical trial management, including ISTs, cooperative group studies, and company-sponsored trials
Previous medical device/diagnostic/pharmaceutical industry experience preferred
Experience with ISO, CLIA, CAP, CLEP, GxP or equivalent regulatory compliance requirements
Senior MSL Requirements
Doctorate-level degree (PhD, PharmD, MD, DNP) or Advanced professional degree with significant clinically relevant experience (PA, NP) required; MD, PharmD, or PhD preferred
Advanced professional degree (NP, PA, RPh, etc.) may be considered for candidates with significant clinicalhematology/oncology experience.
4+ years relevant industry and/or hematology/oncology disease experience required In-depth scientific and/or therapeutic knowledge required Existing relationships with key opinion leaders and affiliated institutions required Strong presentations skills including excellent verbal and written communication 2+ years MSL experience preferred Demonstrated understanding of clinical trial management Working knowledge of regulatory guidance and reporting requirements Exceptional organizational and time management skills Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to work effectively in a cross functional team A self-starter with a results-driven mentality and positive attitude Working Conditions Ability to travel up to 75% of the time #LI-Remote Compensation MSL - Salary Range: $161,500 - $242,300 Sr. MSL - Salary Range: $$181,500 - $272,300 Other compensation elements include: equity grant bonus eligible
