We are actively recruiting for an experienced Senior Financial Manager to join our world-class finance team within the Corporate Functions group partnering at the executive-level to drive financial planning and support key strategic initiatives.
Job description
The Senior Finance Manager is responsible for business partnering with executives and their leadership teams on key initiatives and all aspects of financial management of their groups. These activities include forecasting, fiscal close, management reporting and balance sheet reviews. In this role, you will develop strong partnerships with functional leaders, assisting them with resource investment decisions, headcount planning, insightful financial analysis, and budget management. The role supports several hundred million of annual operating spend across groups in addition to the global bonus model, US benefits and the Applied Materials charitable foundation. The position manages a staff of 2 direct report and matrix manages additional resources in a shared service center which provides accounting and reporting support.
Major Responsibilities
Drive annual budgeting, forecasting and long-term strategic planning processes for each functional area with focus on operating expenses and headcount
Lead team of direct & indirect reports through quarter close processes ensuring accurate and timely completion of deliverables
Support business partners with strategic initiatives by developing business cases and creating insightful analysis that enables management decisions
Prepare presentations of financial results and provide value-add business analysis to partners
Focus on identifying and helping drive cost efficiency, growth opportunities, and process improvements
Ad hoc reporting, analysis and special projects as requested by business partners and/or Controller
Responsible for Applied Materials Foundation financial performance reporting
Oversight of global bonus model, providing leadership with decision support for accruals and payouts
Ensure a strong internal control environment and integrity of financial statements
Key Qualifications
MBA preferred
Effective business partnering with executives to drive improvement in business results
Leadership & team management, including managerial skills, communication, prioritizing, performance feedback and career coaching
Proven competencies, particularly with communications, presentations, problem solving, time management, business acumen, analysis and decision support
Strong Accounting/Finance skills
Demonstrated systems & strong Excel skills

U.S. Salary Range:
$158,500.00 - $218,000.00
The salary offered to a selected candidate will be based on multiple factors including location, hire grade, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and with consideration of internal equity of our current team members. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation such as participation in a bonus and a stock award program, as applicable.
