Solvent Inventory Specialist

How will we make an impact?

As a member of ULS Solvent Replenishment Services, you’ll be working with a close-knit team of three fellow Sr Site Specialists, a Team Lead, and a Supervisor. We work along side with a diverse cross-functional team of professionals with wide range of expertise to provide various lab services to our customers. Our support includes providing customer services to researchers, maintaining solvent stockrooms, ordering chemicals and solvents, and handling the chemical database.

What will you do?

· Restock chemical/solvent inventory at point of use (POU) locations, solvent stockrooms, and keg rooms

· Maintain the solvent keg system which includes supervising keg levels, ordering and installing new kegs, and returning empty kegs to suppliers

· Efficiently use the ULS Inventory Management system to order chemicals and solvents for POU sites

· Track chemicals and solvents using the database which includes moving, transferring, disposing, and scanning inventory

· Coordinate and perform the transport of chemicals, solvent, and kegs across campus with various tools such as carts

· Review, maintain, and build company data reports

  • Analyzes/maintains/reconciles various reports to ensure contractual requirements are met

  • Proactively connect with the supervisor any customer concerns and/or potential problems and optimally address customer concerns within established resolution timeframes.

  • Be involved with safety programs such as hazard identification, inspections and incident reporting/investigation as required.

  • Engage in process improvement activities

  • May perform other responsibilities as assigned by management

Education and Experience

· High school diploma or equivalent required

· 2-4 year college degree is preferred

· Prior professional experience in a relevant field may be considered in lieu of a degree

Key Proficiencies and Skills

· Excellent presentation, verbal and written communication skills

· Detail oriented, strong time management and organization skills

· Digital literacy including Microsoft Office Suite, databases, and internet

· Can operate both independently and part of the team to meet customer expectations

· Adaptable to changing schedules and proactive in the approach to problem solving and handling of routine/non-routine issues

· Customer service experience preferred

· Experience in laboratory setting preferred

Working Conditions

· Works exclusively onsite at customer property which may include office areas, laboratories, chemical stockrooms, and shipping & receiving warehouses

· Is required to wear personal protective equipment including lab coats, safety gloves, safety glasses, and protective shoes

· Regularly required to stand, walk, and conduct manual material handling (twisting, bending, reaching, lifting, etc.) for prolonged periods.

· Regularly required to lift, push and pull 30-40 lbs, and up to 50lbs occasionally.

· Daily use of material handling equipment such as push carts, hand trucks, and pallet jacks

· Ability to work overtime as needed.

Compensation and Benefits

The hourly pay range estimated for this position based in California is $21.42–$32.13.
