Reporting to the Restaurant Manager and Assistant Manager and, the Host/Hostess is a high visibility position that plays a vital role in ensuring that Guest feel welcome, respected, appreciated, and cared for during their time at our restaurant. Our Host/Hostess must emotionally connect with Guests, collect information about Guests' dining experience/preferences, and effectively communicate with our service team and management.
Core Job Responsibilities:
- Greet guests promptly as they enter the venue.
- The Host/Hostess is to assist the Captains, Assistant Food Servers, Bartenders and Food Service Runners as it relates to guest contact and table information.
- Estcourt guests to tables using established rotation criteria
- Keep abreast of all Casino venues, hours of operation and menus.
- Using Open Table, manage incoming reservations and venue floor.
- Check availability on a continuous basis.
- Responsible for conveying special orders, cake orders, special requests information to management.
- Communicate the needs of the guests to the kitchen and management, inform management of guest reactions and comments, and assist management as needed to ensure smooth operation and quality service.
- Frequently check back with guests who are waiting to be seated; make it evident to guests that they have not been forgotten and that tables are being prepared for them.
- Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation and organization of assigned work areas; shut down podium and forward phones to Restaurant Reservations at end of shift.
- Maintain knowledge of scheduled daily activities and in-house groups, daily house count, table/seat/station numbers, proper table set ups, room capacity, hours of operation, price range and dress code of the venue.
- Answer the telephone and facilitate guest requests.
- Ensure menus have proper inserts and are current according to the most recent change and replace all menus in poor condition.
- Operate POS system.
- Handle money and credit transactions.
- Notify manager on duty of any guest concerns.
- Perform other job-related duties as requested.
Qualifications:
- High volume restaurant management or supervisory experience required.
- Basic knowledge of computer software to include Outlook, MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint as well as office equipment, i.e. telephone, copier, fax machine.
- Effective listening abilities with strong judgment skills.
- Excellent customer service skills and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with all business contacts.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Two (2) years of related experience.
- Work varied shifts, to include weekends and holidays.
- Must obtain a TAM/Alcohol Awareness Card.
- Must obtain a Southern Nevada Health District Health Card.
- Must obtain a Nevada Gaming License.
- Minimum age requirement is 21.
- Experience working in a similar resort setting preferred.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- One (1) year of Food & Beverage Cashier or equivalent experience in a cash handling position.
- Experience in a high-volume food outlet.
- Experience with touch screens.
- Experience working in a similar resort setting.
- Must be tolerant to varying conditions of noise level, temperature, illumination, and air quality.
- May be exposed to smoke.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
- Constant contact with executives, department management, employees, and guests.
- Prolonged sitting or standing and mobility.
- Balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, talking, hearing, repetitive motions Lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects and/or move up to 75 pounds occasionally.
- Eye/hand coordination.
- Use of standard office equipment.
- May be required to work evening, weekends, and holiday shifts.
- Equivalent combination of education and progressive, relevant and direct experience may be considered in lieu of minimum educational/experience requirements indicated above.
