We are currently seeking a Director of Merchandising to own our product assortment strategy and lead our talented group of merchants within our golf, baseball and softball businesses. The Director of Merchandising is a key leader within the organization, with responsibility for leading the cross-functional team in the development of the Product and Brand strategies in our golf and diamond sports businesses. You will be a strategic thinker with a deep understanding of market trends, consumer behavior, and best in class merchandising business processes. Additionally, you will have demonstrated capability of cross-functional collaboration across marketing, inventory management, finance, data analytics, and operations. You will drive curated product category assortments that are trend appropriate while being both commercially viable and true to the DNA of the TGW and baseballsavings.com brands. The Director of Merchandising will be a collaborative, diplomatic and inspiring leader who will not only develop and motivate the team but will serve as a passionate brand ambassador.

You will lead a team of approximately 13 merchandising professionals who are spread across Kansas, Texas, and Minnesota. This role is 100% on site at our headquarter location in South St. Paul, MN and reports to the Chief Merchandising Officer of Crecera Brands.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

  • Develop and execute comprehensive merchandising strategies that align with the TGW and baseballsavings.com mission to help our customers succeed on the links and on the diamond
  • Lead the product assortment planning process, ensuring a balanced and profitable mix that meets the needs of golfers, baseball, and softball players
  • Collaborate closely with the data analytics and marketing teams to create cohesive product lines that resonate with our customer base
  • Analyze market trends, consumer behavior, and competitor activities to identify opportunities for growth and innovation
  • Oversee buying and sourcing functions, including vendor relationships, contract negotiations, and supply chain optimization
  • Monitor product performance, conduct regular financial reviews, and make data-driven decisions to maximize sales and profitability
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing merchandising team, fostering a culture of innovation and customer obsession
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless execution of the merchandising strategies across all channels


What you bring to the role:
  • Bachelor's degree in Merchandising, Business, or a related field; MBA preferred
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in merchandising, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role, with special consideration for candidates with experience in the golf industry
  • Proven track record of developing and executing successful merchandising strategies that drive profitable growth
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams
  • Ideally, you will have an understanding of the golf, baseball, and softball industries – understanding current trends, and player preferences
  • Experience in e-commerce retail environments
  • Passion for golf, baseball, and softball sports with a personal appreciation of the players and athletes we serve
