Job Details:

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Permanent Controller to join our manufacturing team. This is a unique opportunity for a financial professional who is passionate about managing and improving financial systems and processes. As a Controller, you will be responsible for overseeing all financial and accounting activities within our manufacturing operations. This includes budget management, financial analysis, payroll, forecasting, accounts payable, accounts receivable and financial reporting. You will also be responsible for cost accounting and utilization of QuickBooks software.

Responsibilities:

The Controller will have the following responsibilities:

1. Oversee all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems ensuring compliance with appropriate standards and regulatory requirements.
2. Maintain internal control safeguards for the receipt of revenue, costs, program budgets, and actual expenditures.
3. Implement consistent accounting policies, practices, and procedures across all programs, upholding federal, state, and local legal standards by remaining knowledgeable about existing, new, and future legislation.
4. Develop and enforce internal controls to maximize protection of company assets, policies, procedures, and workflow.
5. Oversee and support accounting team with dynamic leadership that creates an environment of trust and productivity.
6. Coordinate audits and proper filing of tax returns.
7. Ensure timely and accurate budget analysis and financial review for management team.
8. Assist in the production of the annual budget and forecasts.
9. Calculate variances from the budget and report significant issues to management.
10. Manage the accuracy and productivity of day-to-day activities of accounts payable, cash disbursements, invoicing/billing, customer credits and collections, payroll, perpetual inventory integrity, fixed asset records, general & entity accounting, cost accounting, Human Resources, and Operations etc.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business Administration. CPA or MBA preferred.
2. 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a senior role within the manufacturing industry.
3. Strong experience in both the private and public sector is preferred.
4. Solid experience coordinating audit activities and managing reporting, budget development and analysis, accounts payable and receivable, general ledger, payroll, and accounting for investments.
5. A proven track record of success facilitating progressive organizational change and development within a growing organization.
6. Excellent judgment and creative problem-solving skills, including negotiation and conflict resolution.
7. Exceptional written, oral, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
8. Advanced knowledge of accounting and reporting software - QuickBooks experience is a must.
9. Hands-on experience with cost accounting in a manufacturing setting.
10. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritize and work under pressure.
11. Strong leadership qualities and a team-focused attitude.
12. Ability to translate financial concepts and effectively collaborate with programmatic and fundraising colleagues who do not have finance backgrounds.
