Position Overview:
Under the direction of the HART Medical Director, the Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Field Supervisor oversees the day-to-day operations of emergency medical services (EMS) teams, providing leadership and direction to EMTs and other field staff. This role is responsible for ensuring high-quality patient care, efficient response to emergencies, and compliance with medical protocols and safety standards in the field. The EMT Field Supervisor plays a critical role in the coordination of resources and support for EMS personnel, as well as maintaining a high level of professionalism and performance. This role works in partnership with the HART Crisis Intervention Specialist Field Supervisor.
Duties & Responsibilities:
* Respond to calls for non-emergency community care services via Mobile Computer Terminal (MCT) or radio providing first-aid treatment and/or basic life support to patients.
* Assess a patient's condition and determine if the patient is stable or requires EMS assistance and report assessment findings to the on-scene Crisis Intervention Specialist.
* Provide day-to-day supervision and guidance for Emergency Medical Technicians
* Transfer patients to designated community care facilities or EMS.
* Work with a behavioral health specialist/social worker to refer patients to community-based resources in an effort to keep them out of the hospitals and criminal justice system.
* Document medical care given to patients in a prompt and effective manner.
* Inventory, replace, and sterilize supplies and equipment after use.
* Responsible for training, evaluating and ensuring all trainees have demonstrated sufficient knowledge and practice of each required training skill upon being released to field duties.
* Demonstrate proficiency in knowledge of all HART related policies and procedures.
* Immediately report and document all work-related incidents to your direct supervisor.

Requirements
Education:

Experience:
* At least 5 Years experience in Emergency Medical Services field
* At least 2 Years experience in crisis intervention or mental health services

Licensures:

General Information
Position Type and Typical Hours of Work:
* Full Time | Regular
* Typical working hours may fall between 6:00 AM and 10:00 PM, but specific days and times are subject to change based on the needs of the community and the division. The role requires availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays, as needed, to support community engagement events and other work-related activities.
Work Environment:
* This position involves both a professional office environment and field-based responsibilities. It requires flexibility, adaptability and a balance between office work and outdoor activities with the potential for varying weather conditions.
Physical Demands:
* Must be able to lift up to 50lbs, have the ability to stand, bend, and or sit for extended periods of time.
