Job Location: Hybrid in SF, 3-4 days a week in office. Office is the whole floor of the Figma office. About Us Our product helps companies sell on the internet. We do this by helping marketing teams automate building and testing customer journeys using data and AI.
Today, companies on the internet spend a fortune trying to figure out the right audience, messaging, and experience to maximize revenue online. They spend 100s of hours digging through analytics tools, ad platforms, and spreadsheets every month, and $100,000+ on marketing agencies and developers. We think most of this can be automated in the next 4-5 years.
We built this to analyze your online traffic, provide deep insights, test new ideas, and implement those strategies 10-100x faster. Instead of taking weeks to launch a new product online, all you'll need to do is give us a budget, a product, and a target market and we'll figure out the rest.
About The Team
We were founded in 2021, our founders met at UC Berkeley in 2011 while studying computer science (go bears, IYKYK). We launched in late 2022 and grew to over 1000+ paying customers, in under a year with no sales or marketing budget.
To date, we've raised over $8.2M from Figma, YCombinator, Vercel, General Catalyst, Infinity Ventures, MAGIC Fund, Base Case Capital. We're headquartered in San Francisco. About the role Hiring a senior backend engineer to join our team and focus on system architecture behind a lot of our most popular products. Things you'll be working on:
Architecting and implementing backend systems in Typescript/Node is the core of what you'll be doing. Real examples include - Designing and building an ingestion pipeline for page analytics Building out an A-B testing platform Spiking on our CI platform for a week to improve stability Deploying a multi-tenant NextJS app to render pages on Cloudflare and automatically revalidate in response to queued webhook handlers Mentoring junior engineers on best-practices
Looking for someone who:
Can be hybrid in San Francisco. Has deep knowledge in distributed systems and SOA - load balancers, databases, queuing, caching, HTTP, APIs, high-availability, fault tolerance, redundancy, at-least-two-of-everything. Down to do full-stack work (including frontend even if it's not your main role). Is ALWAYS SHIPPING. We don't spend weeks planning features. Has 4+ years of professional experience with production distributed systems, service oriented architecture. Proficient in Typescript. If you have experience writing these systems in Python/Go/Java that's cool too, as long as you're willing to learn Typescript/Node - the learning curve on writing TS isn't that high for high-caliber engineers. Experience or working knowledge of React is great too, but we can teach you that if we need to. Has a product and customer-focused mindset. Has experience being burned by deployment and maintenance issues. If you have a a strong opinion on how backend systems should be built, that's good. Values writing clean, maintainable software, including documentation (e.g. the code needs to be correct and run fast, but we're the ones that have to read it and understand it). Is comfortable with ambiguity and defining software architecture patterns to solve customer pain points. Bonus points if you:
Have started a company before Enjoy attending hackathons Worked at an early-stage (Series A or earlier) startup previously Have not wasted hours interview-prepping on Leetcode Have an eye for visual design (or past experience in product design, Figma, etc).
Compensation: $180-250k base + equity Benefits:
health, dental, vision. 401k
