In the role of Manufacturing Engineering Manager you'll play a pivotal part on our Industrialization Department team.

This position contributes to our vision by:
  • Managing the Manufacturing Engineering team in the sustaining engineering of the production lines, supporting the Operations teams in accomplishing key performance metrics in safety, quality, delivery and cost.
  • Supports continuous improvement efforts of the production floor, implementing Lean fundamentals of 5S and visual management, and on projects that increase productivity and efficiencies, rate improvement, quality improvement, and cost reduction.
  • Supports new product development, working with the Industrialization teams, and other functional teams, in the definition of manufacturability from engineering designs to the definition of process flows, layouts, tooling / testing needs, cost, and its integration to the production floor.
  • Using knowledge and expertise support the team with critical deliverables of the Industrialization dossier, such as the Manufacturing Bill of Materials, Routers, and Standardized work instructions.
  • Leads and provides feedback on improvements on ease of manufacturing, error-proofing, optimization of cost, and time to manufacture products for the site.
  • Ensure that review of engineering drawings and 3D models for manufacturing / assembly takes place effectively and provide feedback and expertise to the Engineering team for DFMA (design for manufacture and assembly).
  • Identification and justification of capital expense as needed to support sustaining engineering, continuous improvement, and new product introductions.

Job Requirements:
Education:
Bachelor's degree in an engineering field (Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Manufacturing Engineering)

Experience:
Minimum 8+ years of related experience in aerospace, mechanical, electrical, or manufacturing engineering

Preferred Skills and Experience:
Master's Degree in an engineering field is a plus
Experiences in a manufacturing industry, preferably Aerospace, Automotive, Industrial, Electronics
Knowledge of electro-mechanical products and systems, mechanical and electrical assembly
Knowledge of composites manufacturing processes and associated tooling
Knowledge of mechanical and electrical tooling and testing equipment
Knowledge of computer applications such as Power BI, MES, LabView.
Prior direct team management experience
Certified Green or Black Belt in Lean Six Sigma
Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma
Broad knowledge of manufacturing constraints and a strong understanding of phase-gated processes.

Computer Skills:
  • Knowledge of CAD modeling applications such as SolidWorks, Catia, AutoCAD
  • Proficient experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Project)
  • Knowledge of ERP systems software
