About the workplace
This is a permanent, full-time role that will enjoy hybrid working arrangements which can be fulfilled primarily from the Vancity head office location and your Lower Mainland based home office. Periodically, you'll be required to attend in-person activities or events.
As the Manager, Enterprise Strategy, you'll advance the strategic thinking and position of the organization through insights, research, and communications, strengthening our competitive position across our industry. You'll synthesize Executive Leadership Team (ELT) and Board of Directors thinking and perspective to develop the annual business plan and medium- and long-term strategic plans. As a result, Vancity will have the clarity and direction to drive business execution that results in achievement of key priorities.

The salary range for the role is $91,000 to $136,400 and a candidate's offer is likely to be up to the mid-point of the role ($113,700). The upper half of the salary range is typically reserved for individuals who have demonstrated consistent strong performance in the role and possess a high level of job knowledge and skill.

- Contribute to thinking - Refine abstract thinking and objectives through quality questions and discussion to bring clarity and action to organizational work.
- Build a plan - Lead and coordinate the annual planning process, collaborating with divisional leaders on the development of annual growth and operational plans.
- Monitor & reporting - Develop and use monitoring tools and dashboards to gauge organization-wide progress on execution of the plan, KPIs and key metrics. Develop presentations and quarterly reports to provide plans and progress updates for leadership and stakeholders across Vancity.
- Generate insights - Keep close pulse on external environment and internal work to bring in key relevant insights to improve our organizational position.
- Optimize the organization - Remove organizational roadblocks in achieving strategic priorities by translating change into execution ready solutions.
- Deliver key documents - Create exceptional PowerPoint decks that tell cohesive, compelling narratives for targeted audiences through strong design. Write reports with attention to detail, as well as broader lens on messaging and take-aways.
- Mentorship & collaboration - Serve as direct manager for the Senior Strategy Analyst and work collaboratively and fluidly within small, fast-paced, high-performing Strategy team and broader Office of the CEO.
You are:
- An excellent communicator: You use your interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills to facilitate project deliverables, convey and address ideas, challenges, and opportunities across several functions, teams, and departments, internally and externally. You are able to simplify complex topics into easy to consume visual PowerPoint slides and written reports. You love to collaborate, consult, and be resourceful.
- Critical thinker: You understand the big picture objective and are able to dive deep into data and details to ensure accurate and high- quality deliverables.
- Curious & innovative: You enjoy staying up to date on industry trends, exploring insights behind major headlines, and are future focused.
- Results-oriented: You are a self-starter and resourceful in overcoming obstacles. You have a demonstrated ability to uncover insights, generate appropriate solutions, and advance your deliverables on time, on budget, with attention to quality of outcomes.
You have:
- A bachelor's degree or comparable designation (Business, Finance, Economics, Accounting, etc.).
- Experience in areas of enterprise-wide strategy, management consulting, mergers and acquisitions, research, financial analysis or equivalent.
- A strong track record of delivering outstanding results in your work including research and data analysis, sharing clear insights with senior stakeholder groups.
- A natural ability to build and maintain effective partnerships internally and externally with all stakeholders, including senior leaders.
- People leadership capabilities and enjoy mentoring people under your supervision.
- High proficiency with Microsoft suite of products (PowerPoint, Excel, word, etc)
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills, you have experience producing large documents and reports in an easy to digest, concise, visually appealing, and informative manner.
- Bring thought leadership, passion, and curiosity to your work.
Bonus points if you have:
- MBA, CPA, or comparable graduate degree
- Interest or exposure to venture capital markets and technology (i.e., AI, open banking, FinTech, digital assets such as crypto, blockchain, web3, decentralized finance, etc.)
- Experience with mergers and acquisitions.
