Legal Administrative Assistant ( Toxic Tort )( Hybrid in San Francisco ) ( Full-Time)
Location: Hybrid work schedule in San Francisco, California office
Salary: $80K - $90K Base Salary

Must Haves:

  • candidates MUST have 2-3 years of heavy litigation/calendaring experience;
  • Toxic tort experience
  • Two years working in a fast-paced law office
  • bility to file complex motions and other transactions via File & ServeXpress and other e-filing/e-service vendors
  • Basic knowledge of state, federal, and local court rules
  • Thorough understanding of the litigation process, as well as computation of time procedures for accurate calculations of deadlines
Job Responsibilities:
  • Support a team of toxic tort litigation attorneys, including on talc, silicosis, and asbestos matters
  • Draft basic legal documents, correspondence, and court forms, including pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and discovery responses
  • Process documents received from File & ServeXpress and other e-service vendors, including by downloading, saving, and circulating case materials and calendaring events
  • Manage the team's appearance calendar, including via Outlook and eDockets
  • Schedule hearings, depositions, court appearances, Zoom meetings, conference calls, and other events
  • File and serve documents in state, federal and appellate courts
  • Process vendor invoices, and research and respond to other billing issues
  • Process check requests and reimbursements
  • ssist with travel and conference planning
Experience & Skills Required or Preferred:
  • Two years of toxic tort litigation experience
  • Two years working in a fast-paced law office

  • Basic knowledge of state, federal, and local court rules

Software Experience:
  1. Familiarity with using an automated, rules-based docket and calendar system [E-Dockets, Compulaw] and ability to make use of court rules, dockets, and other resources to aid in processing document
  2. Court Filing Systems: File & ServeXpress required
  3. Experience working with document databases: iManage
  4. Microsoft Office 2013 (Word, Outlook, Excel) and PDF editing programs
  5. Strong attention to detail and ability to multi-task
