Cyber Security Engineer

We are looking to add a Cyber Security Engineer to our team based in Phoenix, AZ. This position is primarily office-based, with potential for hybrid work. What you will do? Design and Implement Security Solutions: Develop and deploy security systems and infrastructure, including firewalls, encryption, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), and other cybersecurity measures Vulnerability Assessment: Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and penetration tests to identify potential security risks and recommend corrective actions Security Monitoring: Monitor network traffic for unusual activity, investigate incidents, and take immediate action to mitigate risks. Implement and manage SIEM (Security Information and Event Management) tools Incident Response: Develop and implement incident response plans, lead investigations during security breaches, and ensure effective resolution Security Compliance: Ensure that the organization adheres to relevant cybersecurity laws, regulations, and standards (e.g., CMMC 2.0, NIST, ISO 27001 and SOC 2). Conduct audits and provide compliance reports Collaboration and Training: Work with IT teams to integrate security best practices into all aspects of the organization's technology. Conduct security awareness training for staff to minimize human risk factors Documentation: Maintain up-to-date documentation of all security-related activities, including configurations, processes, and incident Security Policy Development: Develop, update, and enforce the organization's cybersecurity policies and procedures What you bring to the table Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Security, or a related field A master's degree or equivalent work experience is a plus Three to Five (3-5) years of experience in cybersecurity, with a strong understanding of security protocols, cryptography, authentication, authorization, and security best practices Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CEH, CompTIA Security, or equivalent is highly desirable Proficiency with security technologies such as firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, anti-virus, and encryption tools Experience with SIEM tools like Splunk, CrowdStrike or AlienVault Knowledge of network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/S) and OSI model Familiarity with cloud security practices (e.g., AWS, Azure) Proficient in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) for automating security tasks. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities Excellent communication skills to explain complex security concepts to non-technical stakeholders Ability to work independently and as part of a team Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality Why do you want to work with us?
