Based in the DC metropolitan area, TechSur specializes in advanced cloud services, modernization for both IT structures and applications, leveraging Agile development, and Data Analytics. Since we were formed in August of 2016, we have supported multiple impactful and exciting government programs. Job Responsibilities • Perform the daily activities of configuration and operation of systems which may be mainframe, mini, or client/server based. • Assist with the daily activities of configuration and operation of systems which may be mainframe, mini, or client/server based. • Assist with the optimizing of system operation and resource utilization and perform system capacity analysis and planning. • Provide assistance to users in accessing and using business systems Required Skills/Work Experience • 3-5 years of relative experience • Proficiency in operating systems (Windows Server, Linux distributions). • Networking knowledge (DNS, DHCP, VPN, VLANs). • Familiarity with virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V) and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure). • Install, configure, and maintain servers, both physical and virtual. • Manage operating systems (e.g., Windows, Linux, macOS) and system applications. • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for users. • Manage user accounts, permissions, and access rights in systems like Active Directory. • Configure and maintain network devices like routers, switches, and firewalls. • Ensure reliable and secure network connectivity for all users and systems. • Implement and maintain security measures to protect systems and data. • Apply security patches, antivirus software, and firewall rules. • Monitor systems for suspicious activity and potential breaches. • Monitor system performance using tools and logs. • Identify and resolve system bottlenecks or resource conflicts. • Schedule and monitor regular backups of critical systems and data. • Implement and test disaster recovery and business continuity plans. • Install and configure new software and updates on servers and endpoints. • Ensure software is licensed and updated in compliance with organizational policies. • Maintain and repair IT hardware, including servers, desktops, laptops, and printers. • Perform routine checks on hardware health and replace components as needed.
