Job Summary:

The Vice President of Financial Operations will be responsible for overseeing the operations of the financial division, ensuring the integrity of financial data and reporting, and maintaining a robust compliance program. This role requires a deep understanding of financial systems, a keen eye for details, exceptional leadership skills, and a strong commitment to upholding the highest standards of compliance.

This is an exempt position. The Vice President of Financial Operations will report to the CFO.

Essential Functions of the Position:

  1. Oversee the daily operations of the finance department, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, treasury, and financial reporting.
  2. Partner with the CFO to develop and implement the organization's financial strategy. Analyze financial data and make forecasts to guide strategic decision-making.
  3. Ensure the timely and accurate preparation of financial reports in compliance with local, state, and federal laws, and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  4. Develop and implement a robust compliance program to ensure adherence to all regulatory requirements. Stay abreast of regulatory changes and oversee the update of internal policies and procedures as needed.
  5. Identify potential financial risks and develop mitigation strategies to protect the organization's financial health.
  6. Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing finance team. Foster a culture of transparency, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Job Requirements:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field. An advanced degree (MBA, MS) or certification (CPA, CFA) is highly preferred.
  2. Minimum of 20 years of progressive experience in financial management roles, with at least 10 years in a leadership position.
  3. Comprehensive understanding of financial operations, financial reporting, risk management, and compliance.
  4. Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing financial strategies and compliance programs.
  5. Strong leadership skills, with a proven ability to mentor and develop a team.
  6. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  7. Strong knowledge of accounting software, financial systems, and MS Office Suite.
  8. Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  9. High level of integrity and professionalism.
  10. Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  11. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with all levels of the organization.
  12. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions based on accurate and timely analyses.
  13. A strong commitment to continuous learning and staying current with financial regulations and trends.
