The Horsham Clinic is seeking a dynamic and talented Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).
The Horsham Clinic is a 206-bed, private behavioral healthcare facility located on a beautiful 55-acre suburban campus in Montgomery County. We are minutes from Philadelphia and serve patients and families from Southeastern Pennsylvania and New Jersey. The Horsham Clinic provides comprehensive behavioral health services to children, adolescents, adults, and their families. In addition to our main campus in Ambler, we have two satellite partial hospitalization programs in Chester County and Delaware County. The Licensed Practical Nurse provides professional nursing care on a designated unit in a manner consistent with philosophy and objectives of the Horsham Clinic and the ANA Standards of Practice for Psychiatric Care. The Licensed Practical Nurse is accountable for assigned nursing care activities on a shift basis and is responsible for promoting and enhancing nursing practice on the unit under the direction of the Registered Nurse.
Job Requirements
- Must be willing to work with adults, adolescents and dual diagnosed patients.
- Demonstrates working knowledge of behavioral mental health, nursing clinical practices, and management
- Knowledge of principles and practices relevant to nursing and patient care activities
- Highly Developed written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to plan, direct, and monitor others activities with demonstrated leadership abilities that contribute to a positive work environment.
- Proficiency with common computer based applications such as electronic mail, word processing and various databases
- Record a patient's medical history accurately
- Take and record measurements of blood pressure, temperature, heart rate etc.
- Observe patients under treatment to identify progress, side-effects of medications etc.
- Monitor patients' condition including fluid intake and output and compose patient charts
- Assist ailing patients in daily necessary activities such as eating, bathing etc.
- Administer injections, prescribed medications, enemas etc., clean and dress wounds and assist with other basic medical care tasks
- Collect samples for lab testing as assigned
- Provide emotional and psychological support when needed
- Communicate with patients' family or friends to provide advice, comfort and release instructions

QualificationsExperience:
- Graduate if an accredited licensed practical nursing program
- 1 or more years inpatient psychiatric nursing experienced preferred
- Licensure and registration by the Pennsylvania Board of Nurse Examiners as a Licensed Practical Nurse
