Job Description Opportunity at a Glance This position is part of Adtalem's central FP&A function and will be directly part of the financial leadership team for Walden University and Adtalem Centers of Excellence for Marketing (CMO) and Customer Experience (CCO). The successful candidate will engage as a business partner with designated executive(s), will be actively engaged in daily operations, and forecasting and planning of institutional / center of excellence operations. The individual will be working directly with senior financial executives and will have significant face time with the institutional and center of excellence leadership teams. Additionally, this role will be supporting financial analysis and reporting needs of the businesses, including any M&A/divestiture and capex/opex investment analysis as appropriate. The role is also expected to be the central point on various special projects, inclusive of Growth with Purpose initiatives, that have large scale impact across the organization. Responsibilities Will report to the Director of FP&A for Walden University, CMO, and CCO as a lead manager in managing financial activities for month end close, forecasts, annual operating plan, strategic plan and ad hoc requests. Will serve as key finance business partner to designated institutional and non-IT Chief Customer Office leaders. Partnership activities will begin commensurate with candidate experience and will grow over time. Will manage monthly operating review deliverables, reporting and other regular and ad-hoc needs of assigned operations. Will be directly involved in and responsible for forecasting and planning of assigned institutional / CCO functions. Will work as the main contact for non-IT CCO Operations, both with the operations and corporate FP&A. Works along with other members of the institutional, COE finance team members in implementing systems or process efficiencies. Leads Growth with Purpose, process improvement, and/or income generating projects as needed. Completes other duties as assigned. Complies with all policies and standards. Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Accounting required or equivalent required and MBA preferred. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred. 8 years of progressively responsible financial management experience, with oversight of financial functions required. Experience or exposure within a geographically dispersed, multi-unit, large organization (educational, government or corporate) preferred. Strong financial management, analytical and reporting skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to write, develop, and deliver presentations and training. Ability to build trust and effective working relationships across a broad range of people and functions. Uses strong influencing skills to build commitment and persuade others to take appropriate action. Can challenge and confront while maintaining relationships. Possesses professional maturity to work with key constituents/business partners in tactfully exploring win-win situations when resolving issues. Works effectively in a matrix environment. Strong knowledge of GAAP, SOX compliance, business acumen, and IT systems. Excellent computer systems and data management skills. Must be a team player who is also capable of working independently with strong self-motivation. Solid understanding of key business principles. Additional Information In support of the pay transparency laws enacted across the country, the expected salary range for this position is between $80,336.75 and $140,851.54. Actual pay will be adjusted based on job-related factors permitted by law, such as experience and training; geographic location; licensure and certifications; market factors; departmental budgets; and responsibility.
