How you'll help us Keep Climbing (overview & key responsibilities)
As a Lead Ground Maintenance Technician (GMT) in a motorized role, you will be a part of Delta’s Ground Support Equipment team, where you will lead and supervise a group of Stationary Ground Maintenance Technicians (GMT) Stationary Ground Maintenance Mechanics (GMM) and Maintenance Utility 1 Employees (MUE1) in planning and laying out work. The Lead GMT utilizes appropriate equipment and material to accomplish all routine and non-routine maintenance functions on specialized equipment and parts.  

Summary of responsibilities:
  • Electrical and hydraulic troubleshooting and repair, body work, and other technical work as required on all Ground Support Equipment.  
  • Completes data entry to record work assignments and will communicate with other Company personnel as needed.  
  • Inspecting, servicing, troubleshooting, repairing, replacing, and overhauling all ground support equipment and components, such as the truck chassis, body, and drive-train components on a variety of equipment.  
This position is full-time with a starting pay of $56.78 per hour.

What you need to succeed (minimum qualifications)
  • Consistently prioritizes safety and security of self, others, and personal data.

  • Possesses a high school diploma, GED, or high school equivalency. 
  • Is at least 18 years of age and has authorization to work in the United States. 
  • Must have a valid driver's license. 
  • Must be proficient in English. 
  • Must have successfully completed a two-year degree at a post-secondary technical school or have a minimum of three years of experience in Ground Support Equipment maintenance. 
  • Achieve a satisfactory score on entry tests structured to determine ability to perform required tasks.  
  • Ability to lift items weighing up to 70 pounds. 
  • Be willing to work a fixed and/or rotating schedule including afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays. 
  • Have a thorough theoretical and working knowledge of motorized ground support equipment (GSE). 
  • Practice safety and environmental conscious behaviors in all operational processes and procedures. 
  • Proficiency in reading and comprehending mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics. 
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills and provide outstanding customer service. Lead GMTs should be able to comprehend and apply information contained in detailed and complex technical manuals, procedural manuals, blueprints, etc. with no assistance. 
  • Have good problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently in a variety of environments. 

What will give you a competitive edge (preferred qualifications)
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office software products (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint).
