Are you ready to take your accounting career to new heights? We're on the lookout for a highly motivated and dynamic individual to join our team as an Accounting Manager!
What You'll Do:
- Collaborate with Leadership:Work closely with our Director of Finance Americas to develop and maintain robust accounting controls, processes, and procedures.
- Play a key role in both long-term and short-term financial process and controls planning, helping to build the right foundation that will support the future of our organization.
- Comprehensive Accounting Management:Oversee all aspects of general accounting, cash application, and accounts payable, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
Responsibilities:
- Oversees the daily operations of the accounting department accounts payable, fixed assets, and cash application by providing people leadership and guidance to staff accountant
- Manages actual to budget payroll and headcount reconciliations
- Supports monthly and yearly balance sheet and P&L forecasts
- Onboards, manages, and mentors staff on a continuous improvement mindset
- Executes, Reviews and approves monthly general ledger journal entries
- Reviews all general ledger account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completion
- Maintains cash flow by monitoring bank balances and cash requirements; approves cash disbursements and authorizes check and wire transfers
- Maintains asset registers and ensure use taxes are calculated and paid timely
- Maintains accounting controls by monitoring, preparing, and recommending policies/procedures in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles
- Develops, implements, and improves accounting procedures by analyzing current procedures and recommending / driving improvements
- Leads the annual internal and external audits by providing information and answers to auditors and managing all internal deliverables.
- Continuously improves job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, and participating in professional organizations and ongoing training opportunities
- Monitors and analyzes accounting data and produces financial reports or statements
- Records, analyzes and plans financial information for Balance Sheet accounts, standard costing for products, and Cost Center allocations.
- Monthly closing
- Leads accounting team in monthly close for all P&L related analysis and requirements
- Reviews all submissions to corporate through the Vena reporting system
- Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Support
- Acting as resource for our ERP system (IFS) needs that impact financial transactions and helps maintain all posting controls
- Developing IFS reports to support regular and ad hoc reports and analysis
- Working within finance team to maximize efficiency of IFS
- Supports the companies' ERP systems, including new system implementations
- Resource for implementation of IFS for new entities that may be acquired
- Vena and other system support
- Reconcile IFS to Vena (or other systems') data to ensure accurate reporting to corporate
Reports To: Director of Finance Americas
Skills Required:
- Expert level skill with Microsoft Office based applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Strong analytical skills and ability to format data into meaningful financial outputs
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and written
- Proficient with ERP/CRM Tools
- Experience with manufacturing companies preferred
- Excellent organizational skills, with a disciplined approach to implementation, support and documentation.
- Ability to explain complex financial data in clear, straightforward language
- Sound knowledge of US GAAP accounting
- Make independent decisions and solve more complex accounting problems
- Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with all organizational levels
- Organize, manage, and track multiple detailed tasks and assignments with frequently changing priorities in a fast-paced work environment
- Experience leading, managing, and training others
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong problem-solving skills
Education and Experience:
- 6 years + accounting and finance experience
- 4-Year business degree
- Master's degree in related field and/or CPA/CMA preferred
- Experience in financial planning and reporting
- Experience in data analysis and visualization
