Job Description
The purpose of this position is to support the Northern Natural Gas (NNG) SCADA network by provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of system hardware and software and related infrastructure. This individual will participate in technical research and development to enable continuing innovation in cyber security of the SCADA network; ensure SCADA network maintains compliance with cyber security initiatives and regulatory requirements; utilize existing or new technology to automate processes; interface with engineering staff to ensure automation projects are completed per developed standards; assist operations in maintaining SCADA system per developed standards; and work with operations, and controls technical staff to resolve day-to-day issues.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities include hardware installations, upgrades, operating systems and application software installations and upgrades, backup, and recovery administration, maintaining users and peripheral equipment, troubleshooting system and application issues.
Performs research and makes recommendations for software and hardware.
Provides technical recommendations for SCADA network environments. Implements modifications to increase system capacity. Compiles records and reports concerning production, machine operations and maintenance. Analyzes the results of performance and systems management software and recommends changes to improve processing and utilization.
Support the organization's efforts to implement hardware, software, and network solutions to maintain compliance with cyber security programs.
Support efforts to implement advanced cybersecurity controls and monitoring.
Provide technical expertise in managing the SCADA network server infrastructure.
Investigate, analyze, and make recommendations related to reliability, effectiveness and/or efficiency of presently installed and proposed equipment.
Provide technical guidance in the installation, evaluation, and maintenance of software applications.
Support efforts to resolve network problems and incidents through root cause analysis and study of potential network deficits.
Maintain systems and the hosted services through continued monitoring, coordination of data backup, system troubleshooting and proactive security measures.
Develop a migration plan and replacement priority recommendation for existing equipment.
Interface with management and field personnel to ensure uniformity and continuity and to promote customer service.
Perform any additional responsibilities as requested or assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology or related field or equivalent work experience. (Typically four years of additional related, progressive work experience would be needed for candidates applying for this position who do not possess a bachelor's degree. A minimum of two years additional directly related technical experience is required) Fundamental knowledge of installation, management, and system support for the following: Experience supporting Windows Server 2012/2016/2019, Windows 10, VMWare vCenter, VMWare Sphere and Hyper Converted infrastructure. Experience supporting Microsoft Active Directory and Group Policy Familiarity with fundamental networking/distributed computing environment concepts. Demonstrated experience working on SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) or industrial control systems. Knowledge in cyber security and experience implementing CIS (Center for Internet Security) Controls, CSC (Critical Security Controls) Top 20, NIST (National Institute of Standards and Technology) or other security control sets Understand/adhere to and implement overall security policies Familiarity in developing standards and procedures Experience in implementing allow listing software Experience with automating tasks with PowerShell Demonstrated experience with software deployment tools and security configuration management tools. Experience installing, configuring, and maintaining Windows applications Extensive experience installing, configuring, and maintaining third party applications Server and client administration to include patching, hardening and performance tuning Familiarity with remote support and troubleshooting.
Demonstrated troubleshooting and problem-solving skills at a complex level.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills; capable of writing purchase justifications, making presentations to an internal audience, and interacting positively with peers and upper management.
The Analyst L1 position requires a minimum of two years of related experience resulting in a demonstrated ability to support the technology systems as outlined.
The Analyst L2 position requires a minimum of four years of related experience resulting in a demonstrated ability to support the technology systems as outlined.
