The Search Engine Optimization Specialist will be responsible for optimizing websites/online content and local listings to improve visibility for the company in local search results, while driving continuous improvement of the user experience. Primary duties will include serving as point of contact for all projects related to local store listing and SEO. The Specialist will work to understand the audience and competition, market by market, in order to develop strategies to improve local rankings, including on-page optimization, citation management, and review management.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Develop and implement SEO strategies to improve the online visibility of the brand in general and local organic search results across multiple search engines.

Perform keyword research and analysis to identify search trends and opportunities to increase organic website traffic.

Oversee and optimize landing pages to enhance search rankings within search engines.

Monitor and track SEO performance using analytics tools, report on progress, and facilitate recommendations for the future (ranking, traffic, organic conversions, etc.)

Optimize on-page elements such as title tags, meta descriptions, header tags and internal/external linking for organic search.

Build high-quality local citations on relevant directories and websites to increase local search authority.

Strategize with web developers, user experience designers, content creators, third parties and other internal stakeholders to ensure website design, architecture and content are optimized for organic search.

Collaborate with SEO team and web developers to keep the site up-to-date on all indexation and crawlability issues, manage page speed optimizations and coordinate technical site migrations.

Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of search algorithm updates and industry trends to continually improve SEO strategies.

Partner with IT teams to document SEO tasks/projects and troubleshoot SEO-related issues.

Monitor competitive organic search performance & activity.

Assist with special department projects at the direction of leadership.

SKILLS/EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

Required:

High school diploma or equivalent (GED)

Experience with and knowledge of implementing SEO best practices and keyword research

Advanced knowledge and experience utilizing Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint

Excellent attention to detail

Passionate about the customer with a strong interest in understanding and driving user behavior

Analytical, process-oriented, and comfortable working with large data sets and making data-driven decisions

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Comfortable in a cross-functional work environment with the ability to motivate and influence

Ability to navigate through ambiguous and subjective situations

Desired:

Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications or business

Experience practicing SEO optimizations for a large eCommerce website

Experience with SEO and other analytics tools strongly preferred (Google Search Console, Google Analytics, Google Business Profile, BrightEdge, Moz, or equivalent)

Self-motivated and creative
