Job Details
The Refrigeration Technician position is responsible for a variety of HVAC/R equipment for our industrial and commercial customers, through daily service maintenance, performing diagnostic reviews and identifying the root cause for any needed repairs.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: To perform this job, an individual must be able to perform the following:
Maintains, repairs, and conducts Preventative Maintenance (PM) on anhydrous ammonia refrigeration equipment in safe and efficient manner Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) for PM’s, repairs and return equipment to fully operational status Read and understand technical drawings (P&ID’s, blueprints, electronic/mechanical schematics) to repair/maintain equipment Work as a team member with productions, maintenance and other technicians to support the facilities in the repair and maintenance of equipment Utilize Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to understand workload and record actions (e.g., workorders, asset/labor history,
inventory usage) Utilize computerized refrigeration control system to monitor, adjust and optimize system Communicate with (or to) individuals or groups verbally and/or in writing (e.g., customers, suppliers, associates) Operate powered equipment (e.g., scissor lift, MHE-Material Handling Equipment, and boom lift) during PM’s and repairs Perform mechanical and electrical repairs and maintenance on various ammonia refrigeration systems Troubleshoot and repair refrigeration related electrical systems to include 120V control power and 480V 3-phase. Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance to ensure optimal performance of refrigeration equipment Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with refrigeration systems, identifying and resolving problems efficiently Perform system checks, including temperature and pressure readings, to ensure proper operation Handle emergency service calls for refrigeration system breakdowns and provide timely repairs Collaborate with other technicians and team members to complete projects and assignments Maintain accurate records of all repairs, maintenance activities, and parts used Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines while working with refrigeration systems Required to work with low levels of Ammonia (
Employees must adhere to all policies and procedures of the respiratory program (air purifying respirator) Other duties may be assigned and subject to change in accordance with business needs
