We're seeking a dynamic Production Control Supervisor to oversee the efficient flow of production materials while maintaining optimal inventory levels and ensuring cost-effectiveness. As a pivotal member of our team, you'll be responsible for implementing strategies to streamline processes, reduce costs, and enhance overall productivity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Planning: Develop and execute plans to procure materials timely and cost-effectively, ensuring inventory control, efficient planning, and quality control measures are in place.
- Process Optimization: Implement and maintain material control systems and policies to streamline procedures, reduce costs, and address any challenges effectively.
- Inventory Management: Maintain balanced inventory levels to prevent stock shortages and cash flow issues, while also forecasting monthly shipments and managing backorders.
- Collaboration: Work closely with Marketing and Sales teams to forecast new product timelines and sales, ensuring alignment between production and demand.
- Leadership: Provide guidance and leadership to the Planning team, optimizing the use of MRP, MPS, and supply chain availability.
- Supplier Relations: Assist in enhancing the negotiating skills of Purchasing personnel to improve product cost, quality, and delivery, fostering long-term supplier relationships.
- Global Coordination: Coordinate global procurement efforts and oversee the sourcing and supplying of raw materials and outside services.
- Problem Solving: Develop and implement solutions to address any issues that may affect material flow and customer support, collaborating with cross-functional teams.
- Communication: Facilitate effective communication and collaboration between departments, ensuring smooth operations and addressing any challenges promptly.
- Personnel Management: Select, develop, and evaluate personnel to ensure the efficient functioning of the department.
Qualifications:
- Education: High School diploma or equivalent. A four-year degree is preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of five years of experience in a manufacturing environment or a combination of education, training, and experience that demonstrates the required knowledge and skills. APICS or CPIM certification is advantageous.
- Skills: Proficiency in MRP, JIT/Lean manufacturing principles, and PC skills. Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication abilities are essential.
