Job Title: MEP Designer
Job Description
We are currently hiring for an MEP Designer to support a reputable A&E firm in the Columbus Metropolitan area. As the MEP Designer, you will focus on commercial building projects. The A&E firm has multiple business units, including Civil, Transportation, Energy, and Building Systems, which includes Architecture & MEP engineering. You will work within the Building Systems group and report to a Licensed Project Lead Engineer. You will take direction from the Lead Engineer and support them in a mechanical, electrical, and plumbing design/engineering capacity, managing the technical content of building projects and overseeing all steps of the project process. You will use AutoCAD and Revit design software to produce construction documents for commercial buildings, primarily for retail clients.
Responsibilities
Support the Lead Engineer in mechanical, electrical, and plumbing design/engineering capacities.
Manage the technical content of building projects and oversee all steps of the project process.
Utilize AutoCAD and Revit design software to produce construction documents for commercial buildings, primarily for retail clients.
Complete preliminary calculations for HVAC, ventilation, electrical, plumbing sanitary, and water supply systems.
Train within all disciplines of MEP engineering and learn areas of deficiency if not well-versed.
Work a hybrid schedule with in-office work on Mondays and Wednesdays, and remote work on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays.
Essential Skills
Experience with AutoCAD and Revit producing construction documents for commercial building projects or retail projects.
Knowledge of engineering calculations.
Associate's Degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering OR equivalent experience.
3 years of on-the-job experience as a Mechanical Engineer/Designer or Electrical Engineer/Designer for building systems.
Work Environment
The work schedule is Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM. There is also a hybrid work schedule. The work environment promotes a great working culture with increased work flexibility throughout your tenure. The A&E firm has experienced significant growth, with 30% growth in 2022 and 19% growth in 2023, doubling in size over two years.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $31.25 - $38.46
