The Certified Cisco Internetwork Expert (CCIE) Engineer is an integral component of a team supporting a federal client’s organizational and digital transformation. The is a mid-level to senior role for someone with at least 7+ years of experience in the field including a minimum of 5 years supporting large scale (Enterprise level) Network product deployments. We are looking for a Network Engineer with an entrepreneurial spirit to develop industry-leading products that drive our clients’ digital businesses as well as function as the conduit between customer success and our delivery team to prioritize roadmap features and tackle urgent client issues. The Network Engineer will participate in technical reviews and will support deployment and maintenance of existing and new Infrastructure used to deliver various data services across the WAN and LAN. As an Engineer, you must be able to participate in after-hours work as required in support of system implementations.

Essential Functions, Responsibilities & Duties may include, but are not limited to:

Must be able to work across multiple operational and technical disciplines and provide direction and oversight through product development life cycle

Working with Stakeholders to clearly define the business requirements as it pertains to Enterprise network products and services

Expert Level Experience in designing SD-WAN configurations and traffic shaping policies

Creation of moderately complex to complex technical specifications from functional requirements including logical and physical drawings, data/process flow models, etc.

Troubleshooting WAN hardware, software and circuit connectivity problems; coordinate resolution with internal technical resources and vendors.

Supporting and recommending strategies around network optimization, upgrades and hosted IP service configurations

Provide Network SME technical support and troubleshooting to Service Desk, as required

Interface directly with internal and external clients/vendors and serve as a technical point-of-contact

Demonstrate deep level understanding of Network Design and Migration Experience

Experience utilizing ThousandEyes, Datadog, or other DEM monitoring systems

Required Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

University degree or college diploma in the field of Computer Science, Information Technology, business-related field, or equivalent required.

CCIE Certification Required

7+ years direct work experience in support, operations, implementation and design of Enterprise scale IT systems. This experience should also include supervising staff to meet business requirements

Foundation in the principles, design and implementation of IP networks, including OSI modeling, IP routing, vLANs, L2/L3 VPN connections, SNMP poling, QoS tuning

Experience supporting and or deploying SD-WAN solutions across an Enterprise environment; ability to develop architectural representation of said solutions and articulate to end customers

Experience scripting new service configurations, leveraging programming languages such as Python, Yaml, PowerShell, Java, Bash, etc.

Experience supporting WAN capacity & performance management, including baseline data gathering, data analysis, threshold determination and overall service validation

Experience supporting hybrid On-prem and Cloud environments, including 3rd party Cloud service connections

Experience designing zero trust network access and integration with existing security solutions

Familiarization with DNS & IP Address Management administration

Familiarization with network security and compliance protocols and or approaches, especially around VPN, network segmentation, access control, firewalls, Cloud connections

Familiarization with waterfall and agile methodologies (e.g., Scrum, Kanban).

Ability to obtain a Public Trust

This job operates in a professional office environment and has a noise level of mostly low to moderate. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

This position is primarily indoors, consistent with a standard office position and has a noise level of mostly low to moderate. The incumbent is required to stand, walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. The workload may require the incumbent to sit for extended periods of time. The incumbent must be able to read, do simple math calculations and withstand moderate amounts of stress.

The incumbent must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
