As part of Apple Open Engineering our team is responsible for building and delivering libraries and content around libraries and frameworks which form the foundations of mission-critical systems at Apple. We promote community adoption of Swift programming language through live and on demand training experiences. Much of the content we produce is published as open source. Open Engineering Education is looking for top talent to help develop swift libraries, content, and examples to guide engineers in server side and full stack development with Swift. We want an individual who is excited to contribute to the open source community and help drive modern best practices for building and maintaining open source curriculum.
DescriptionThis role is tasked with creating and delivering training materials and open source documentation for Swift on Server. Created materials will be educating both internal and external facing audiences and will contribute to the body of Open Source documentation and training on the Swift programming language. This role will collect, organize, and develop training materials for a learning program that will help educate developers and highlight the reasons Swift on Server should be a preferred choice for writing services.
An ideal candidate will be a technical trainer and engineer that both has a strong grasp of the Swift programming language as well as understands the operational experience. They should have the ability to apply programming skills to solve server side issues. A technical trainer who is a developer. A developer who is thinking with a server *nix admin perspective.
As part of this team, working on Swift on Server education, your areas of focus will center on the following:
Learn new libraries and document new features of the Swift programming language server/back end perspective
Contribute documentation to the Swift Open Source community
Build, trouble shoot, tear down lab environments
Minimum QualificationsDemonstrable/Proven record of technical content creation.At least 3 years of technical training experience.At least 5 years of professional software engineering experience.Preferred QualificationsSwift open source community contributor preferred.At least 2 years of Swift software engineering experience preferred.Java/Go/Rust experience is helpful.Proven track record in technical training, technical content development, and Swift programming.Pay & BenefitsAt Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $175,800 and $312,200, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs.
